Cold Spring Country Club
About
Cold Spring Country Club is situated halfway between Springfield and Worcester. Opened in 2010 in an effort to bring world class golf to western Massachusetts, the club has since garnered a local following. The par-71 layout is unique in that it has six par 3s and five par 5s. There are also some par 4s in the 450-yard range. The 6,521-yard length indicated on the scorecard can be deceiving since it feels much longer when you're playing it. The golf course has plenty of variety, including dogleg lefts, doglegs rights, short holes, and long holes. Thanks to its mountaintop locale, Cold Spring C.C. offers stunning views that are as diverse as the holes. The vistas from the elevated tees and greens stretch to the Berkshires, Connecticut, and Vermont. From the golf course's highest tee box on the par-3 10th, you'll have a panoramic view of central Massachusetts.

The scenery is spectacularly panoramic at several of the Cold Spring tees and greens. This is the first hole, a par-three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A terrific par-5 of 490, the second demands good shotmaking to find this green safely. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

The long tenth, a par-4, features an offset fairway and a tough approach to an elevated green site. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

A long par-5, eleven features strong ground movement from tee to green. A beautiful and challenging hole. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Although modern, the course maintains a natural feel. Secluded, too, on some holes, such as the sixteenth. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/05/2022

Our favorite place to golf
My wife and I golf just about every weekend during the New England golfing season. Out of every place that we golf, Cold Springs is the number 1 favorite place to golf for the both of us. We have never been disappointed, the pace of play is always flowing at a good speed and the food is always great. The views from the outside patio are astounding and when the breeze comes through is just feels peaceful.
We would recommend this coarse to anyone e looking for immaculate greens, fairways and bunkers.
Great Course
Went golfing here after a long morning of rain. Course drained very well and left us with a clean feel to an already beautiful course.
Will keep coming back again and again!
great day
nice staff, great conditions, I shall return. nice traps not used to such good conditions
Great Course... Bad Club House Experince
Course was in great shape, very challenging. Not a big fan of starting with a par 3 and then a par 5 that puts a premium on accuracy with a up hill tee shot. Fairways were nice and greens were challenging but true. Sand traps were almost fun to land in as they had nice sand and well racked. Club house was a different story the facility is top notch and golf staff was professional and helpful. However when we got to the turn we went in to restaurant it was a different story. We ordered 2 drinks and 2 cart dogs from bartender who was sufficient but not very hospitable. Still left her 5 bucks despite this. After waiting 15 min for cart dogs at the turn (with only 2 other sets of people in the place) I politely ask if they are almost ready. She doesn't respond expect by making a face than goes to the back. I then here a min later somebody yell what sounded like a profanity. A few minutes later the hot dogs come out and I open the box only to see a hot dog that is covered in grill grizzle. I don't mind a little of that but as someone who works in the food industry they either have the dirtiest grill ever or this was intentionally done. I brought the hot dog back and received a refund as well did my friend. However they were rude about it and were never offered an apology or explanation. I'm not sure if it was a matter of them not caring about 2 golfers who are not regulars and just 2 guys passing through, but the lack of any hospitality is just uncalled for. A smile a some point or a simple apology would have gone a long way.
Great Track!
Cold Springs is my favorite course now that I've played it 4 times. It is quite challenging with fantastic conditions. Greens had been aerated recently but were still fast. All fairways in excellent shape too. This course is right up there with Crumpin Fox and The Ranch. Can't wait to play there again!
Cold Spring Country Club is a must play.
I would rank Cold Spring Country club as one of New England's best courses. The condition is outstanding, and layout is challenging enough to keep even the most discerning golfer interested.
Nice Course for $34
We had fun. Play was fast. Staff was very friendly. The fairways were in good shape. The rough had very few good lies. You have to keep in the fairways. Greens played true even for being recently aerated.
Cluttered Greens
Course was a little further off the highway then I thought, but driving up to the clubhouse I thought I was going to be impressed. Joined three men who had been here before. They were playing from the white... way to short. Course could of been great but greens were all covered with seeds and stuff that looked like they have never been blown off. Lot of gimmicky holes... I would not go back, in the middle of nowhere... Mountain course...
Best spring course.
After playing 3 local courses, I played Cold Spring. Fairways and greens were outstanding for May in New England.
Come check out Cold Springs
Had a great time once again. The course was in great shape for early season. It will only improve as summer nears. Only complaint... They need to have a ranger to keep play moving. We caught up to a foursome who took there sweet time and had no respect for us regarding etiquette (could not play through). It took a bit longer but since it was our first round of the year, so we rolled a few extra putts (no groups behind us). It's a must play course for sure. Enjoy!
I'll be back!
First time there on a cool, sunny morning. Beautiful clubhouse and restaurant with large patio. Someone at our car to take our clubs seconds after pulling in. Some might call some of the holes quirky but I would say interesting and well done. Like the 9th hole which is 200 yard par 4. Except you must go up about 100 feet in elevation. Fairways and greens were well maintained. A hidden gem off the beaten track.
excellent value
The course has filled in nicely over the past few years. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition and the few tee boxes that were trouble last year have fully recovered. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Overall the course is an excellent deal for the 30$ that I paid.
Fivesomes and no "working"rangers
Experience started well with respectable shop staff. Starter was very helpful and thought we were in for an enjoyable day, After almost 3 hours on the front nine we were told there were 2 five somes ahead of us and that the ranger allowed them as they were part of larger group. Fortunately they only played 9 but the group of members ahead of us weren't much faster and back nine still took close 2 hours and 30 minutes to play. The course itself was in good shape and was challenging but at this pace it won't be somewhere I'll e in any hurry to return to.
enjoyed first round, i'll come back
beautiful Sunday afternoon in September. arrived early, nice driving range, wild turkeys for spectators. got off early, front nine is hilly in spots, need a cart. holes were fair and varied, lots of elevation change. 5 par 5s, 6 par 3s, interesting layout. i'll come back.
target golf definately comes into play
because of the rescent dry weather the greens were hard to keep the ball on with iron shots
Maturing nicely
I've played the course a few times since it opened, and it's really coming together nicely. The course layout is described by some as "gimmicky" but I consider it more technical in nature. You have to make shots and stay in the short stuff or you can really get into trouble. The greens rolled fast and true during the round and the overall condition was well worth the price.
Great experience
Staff was so helpful and courteous. Pace of play was great 3.5 hours on a Sunday morning. Even did replay in around the same pace. Greens were nice with good pace. Enjoyable experience and I will go back
presently surprised
On The Advice Of A Friend I Found About This Course...... What A Find....... A New Course Very Good Condition, Very Challenging,Quick Greens And Some Great Views..... Can't Wait To Play again....Thanks To My Friend And Golf Now.com For Some Great deals
very pretty course
When the pro shop saw I had a hot deal from golf now, they became unfriendly and acted as if they could care less about us, course is pretty, tee boxes are built on gravel, very firm fairways and greens, greens rolled well , hard to read the breaks! cannot walk this course , lots of elevation change, I will play it again, but am concerned about the treatment of people that book on golf now.
