Esplanade Golf and Country Club of Naples

We played a exzellent conditioned cource. Greens were not too fast. Teeboxes, fairway, greens and rough are very nice and beautiful ... not only for the eyes :-)

Course condition was disappointing. Greens were much slower than the Lakewood Ranch Esplanade greens. Free side trap on #8 actually has many small rocks in it.

Excellent course conditions and practice areas. Greens were receptive - not the fastest but difficult to read. No GPS on the carts so bring your device or range finder. Will definitely play again. Pace was about 4 hrs and 15 minutes for a 9am tee time.

Due to a scheduled event later in the day, course traffic was reported to be lighter than usual. We completed our round in 3:45, a great pace. Apparently this speed is unusual as course personnel suggested typical rounds were at least 4hours 15 minutes.

Greens, tees and fairways were in great condition; greens were typically large and undulating and played at "resort speed", a little slower than most are used to.

First time playing this course and we will be back. Course was very expensive but worth the price. The staff were very courteous and helpful. Fairways were wide and very plush. Greens were fast but ran true. A beautiful course.

As a resident of Naples I play at The Esplanade frequently, especially during the summer. The staff is generally helpful but not overly so, on par with a majority of the courses in the area. The course condition was pretty good although some of the areas in the rough could use attention as novice golfers struggle a bit when their balls go astray. This leads into my next point which is the pace of play, ABYSSMAL! The course attendants ride around and do not address pace of play issues. Our foursome was stuck behind a twosome that had a hole and 1/2 open in front of them. Despite our repeated waiting they never motioned us through and the ranger just waved at them as he sailed by. The coups-de-gras was watching the golf challenged player in front of us take 5 strokes to get out of the bunker. Average course, don't be in a rush.

I'm not sure you can get them up to 11 with that undulation. But they need to be a bit faster to make it fun.

It was a delightful experience. Staff friendly. Wde fairways and wonderful greens

Teed off on schedule and the games began. 2:48 minutes to play the front nine. Never saw the ranger. Called the pro shop. Tony was great. 2:18 to play the back nine. Golfers need to be educated by the ranger to keep upswing group in front of them not the group behind. A threesome waited on every tee for the green to clear. Then they were awful. Where's the ranger?? Still waiting!!!!!

Got a $30 credit to play again. But at $149

The course was nice enough, but it could not make up for a 5:30 round of golf. Literally on one par 3 we waited 23min to tee off. We had to wait between 3-7 min on EVERY shot. I cannot keep my interest in the game having to wait that long. The rangers were fairly inept in handling the situation too. Pretty much ruined the entire experience.

Below average at best layout and a mile between tee boxes!

Esplanade is a pro course... keep em straight, and bring your A game, or its a long day!

Excellent round of golf. Mid morning tee time and pace was good. Course is in great condition; challenging but user friendly for all levels. Get the tuna sandwich at the turn - delicious!

Course was in good condition and we rarely had to wait on group in front of us. However, at the end , there was nobody to help with our bags so we had to lug them all the way around the cart tent to the car. We saw people working there, but it seemed since we were not members, they could care less.

The IRS facility has great possibilities but the staff need guidance. At bag drop we were told to check in at pro shop but then allowed to walk to clubhouse away from pro shop. No dirrctions to first tee and sign shows direction to 20th tee. Starter did not tell us pin positions. W

e played behind a 4 ball and they had a two ball in front of them. We would have preferred to be paired with the 2 ball.

Greens were slow possibly 7 on stump meter.
