Not bad conditions but a bit of a goofy layout. The distance between some greens and tees you almost need a Sherpa .

Pro shop staff could not be better. Really made you feel appreciated as a customer. Course was challenging yet forgiving. Only problem are the starters. There job is to get/keep things going.. they just seemed to drive around a lot and whoever got to the tee first was up next? Other than that I think this is going to be s great resort and would consider buying here.

Good public course. Good layout and good condition.

It was a sun shiny day and I was expecting a great round at a new course. On 11 the starter approached our foursome and accused us of playing slowly and hitting multiple balls. I have no idea where he got that from. We were 2:10 into our round. He tailed us for 3 holes and showed up again at 15. We finished in 4:11. A very reasonable time for a foursome on a holiday Monday. I play a lot of golf and have never had this happen to me. It was the rudest most unpleasant experience one can have on a golf course and completely baseless.

After the round we complained to the pro shop. The pro said that all guests are expected to play in 4 hours flat otherwise the members complain.

That is entirely unreasonable and wasn't disclosed to us prior to the round. I would never recommend this course given its price and poor almost ludicrous demands and horrible staff etiquette.

The course is caught between being a private and public course and is unable to maximize revenue while catering to their members. Worst golf experience I have ever had. Stay away.

Beautiful course, but the construction on the back 9 was a disappointment to play through. No shade anywhere on a hot day made it tough. Very friendly and professional staff. Given the price, not sure I want to play it again.

Nice course, but they could use part of the green fees to hire a ranger. We waited on every hole.

There are just too many golfers on this course. They should put groups out at least 10 minutes apart.

Tees and fairways in excellent shape. Greens were fuzzy and extremely slow. Even downhill putts would stop before getting to hole. Very unpredictable greens. Greens were even slower than when I played there three weeks earlier.

Played this course a couple of years ago when, in it was in just in its first year of operation, so decided to come back to see how it has matured. The course (fairways and greens) were in above average condition but IMO it still needs time to mature as some greens held quality shots while others acted as springboards and rocketed the balls over the backs or sides. The pace was very good (1:55) on the front side but brutally slow (2:30) on the back which made for a less than pleasant experience as we waited and waited and waited on every shot ... and no ranger in site! Not a course you want to walk nor have your cart breakdown, especially on the back nine, as the distance from green to next tees were substantial. Holes 13, 14, 15, 16 were literally in the back woods with no housing development nor means of communicating with the Pro Shop if something happened!

Hands down one of the worst managed courses I've EVER played. Played an afternoon round and stopped after 13 holes .. waited at least 15 minutes on each shot and not once saw a ranger to speed up play.. was quite frankly absurd. When we came in to end the longest round of my life we asked if it is always this slow and they simply replied "yea it's playing slow". Well perhaps you manage your course properly and this would not happen! We had a tee time at a different course that we cancelled to play here and that very well could of been the WORST decision of my life. We played Lely mustang earlier in the morning and when we mentioned that the starter told us this would blow Lely out of the water! YEA RIGHT. The management team at esplanade should probably head over to Lely with a notebook and take some serious notes on how to run a golf course. I will be sure not to recommend this course to anyone. The only logical person at this course was the college kid who was at the bag drop... should probably give him a promotion because whoever is running it now is clueless. Would of had a better time taking my $100 that I paid and putting it through a shredder! Complete waste of time.. 4 and half hours to play 13 holes is completely rediculous and is probably the main reason young people do not want to get involved with golf.. like I said in the review title STAY AWAY and go play a course who has a clue.

Very good condition, generous fairways with very difficult greens. Staff was very friendly. I'll play it again

Interesting layout, various tees, generous fairways in good condition. Large greens with undulations. They seem to be slower than what one visualize. We found what seemed to be small insect holes with mounds on the later holes (15-18). Some long travel between holes, exspecially on the back nine. The pace was fine until hole 15 where we were waiting on every shot. For those who were commenting on price, it's Naples in Jan. Feb. March, it's what the market will bear. I happen to get a last minute deal. I would play it again. Disregard my rating on the off course amenities as I didn't use them. Plenty of water & bathroom facilities on course. We saw the cart twice, once on each nine.

The course has a nice layout. There is trouble right and left but the fairway are wide enough to make it very playable. The greens are nice with some undulations although they are a little slow. We played in under four hours and never saw the group in front of us.

Played Esplanade for the first time today. Based on the cost ($149) I expected to play an outstanding track. It was not outstanding. The greens were very slow, probably an 8, although they did roll true.

The course itself is nice, with some very interesting holes and design.

The negatives for me were:

#1 - The space between holes. It's absurd.

#2 - It seemed there was a lot of construction going on all over the course. It seems like additional homes are clearly the priority over the golf course.

#3 - Don't like the aqua driving range.

#4 - The Guest Fee $149!!

The positives were:

#1 - Very nice layout.

#2 - Nicely conditioned course - but not great.

#3 - Interesting holes & set up.

#4 - Very good greens. But they need to be faster.

#5 - The outdoor staff was very attentive & nice.

Overall a good track, but not a great one. Clearly not worth the $149 Guest Fee.

Seems to me that this "could" be a very nice track if they chose to focus their attention on the course instead of the new construction.

Nicely kept course, greens are large and very undulating. Downside to the course, is the really long drives from green to tee. Decent value for the Naples area courses.

A great new course. T times too close together for a slow pace of play. Loved the course but waited every shot.
