6 nice holes, 3 others need another year
Played today (September 6) for the first time since they opened this summer. There are nine holes and you play them twice. The course was empty so pace of play and the turn went fine. 6 holes seem well developed and the fairways are grown in. The last 3 holes probably need another year or two to let the fairways grow. Greens are mostly rock hard with only the par threes holding a shot. Some bunkers are fine and fully loaded with sand, others are still being formed and filled with dirt requiring a drop. The track itself seems to be quite nice and has promise for the future. Can recommend to others as long as you aable to obtain a fair price from golf now and limit your expectations.
I will be back.
Great Course!
I feel very lucky to find this hidden gem. I can't wait to see the front nine completed with a permanent club house.
Thank you for your review. We're very glad you enjoyed our course. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Nice layout
I was disappointed to find out it was 9 hole course.
But course was good condition and layout was good.
We played 9 hole twice and enjoyed it.
Direction to the clubhouse was not visible for new players, we wandered around complex for 15 minutes to find the clubhouse.
Thank you for playing and your review. There are signs located as you approach the circle from the main roads. We will have 18-holes sometime in 2018. We look forward to seeing you again.
Geese
The gesse are becoming a major problem that they better address their tearing up the course.holes 11,12,13 are getting terrible. have played here a lot and this time was the worst with the geese.
Thank you for your review. We did have a hard time with the geese this year. We're working with our local officials on the best way to remove them without harming them. We look forward to seeing you again.
It will be a Gem in time.
The course layout is challenging however fair. It time once the course matures and the front nine completed it will be a nice golf destination.
There's only one concern the Canadian geeses think that they own the fairways on two holes.
Thank you for your feedback on our course. We are looking forward to having a full 18-holes. We're discussing with local officials on how to remove the geese in a manner to not harm them. We hope to see you again.
Well worth the hot deal price
Course is new. Very few yardage markers. Greens were rated as 9 but very slow. Staff very friendly and helpful. Course will only get better as they make continuing minor upgrades. Great hot deal price.
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to seeing you again.
Great 9, can't wait for the rest
Great, challenging set up. Looking forward to the rest of the course and finished product to come on line. Great value for the cost. Play at Plantation Lakes if you can.
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to seeing you again.
Why waste money?
I have admired the course from Rt. 30/24 for sometime; today I played. My evaluation comes in form of a question. Why invest 27 plus million dollars in a golf course for geese to eat? Most holes are covered with goose dung and clear signs of goose-damage. Pitiful.
We have had a tough summer with high humidity and thunderstorms that dumped 7 inches of rain in some spots. However, there are signs that this course is over-watered, tees lost to rot, several greens (and I did not look closely) with rot or rot coming.
The layout is grand because one could mix tees to make the 9 hole course a reasonable, affordable 18. However, take a rangefinder; in 9 holes I found 2 yardage markers and could not find markers on par 3s.
I won't return as walking in goose debris is way down on my to-do-list.
We thank you for your feedback. We did have a goose problem this summer as did other courses in the area. We were working with our local officials to help remove the geese without harming them. I'm not sure where you heard $27 million to build a golf course, but that certainly isn't true. Our tees suffered with the heat, not rot. The greens did not suffer at all with any kind of disease. We have markings on the fairways for 100, 150, 200 and 250 yards. Plus sprinkler head markings. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss the course with you at any time. We look forward to seeing you in the future
Virgin Territory
A new course only the back nine is open. The staff told me the groundbreaking for the front is scheduled for the fall. An interesting mix of holes some longish par fours and mid length par fives. Hole 13 a great par three 193 from the blues. Greens rolled true, the fairways were wet and I was CPO. The Complaint is that the course was not yet in my Garmin and the yardage disks need to be more prominent.
thank you for your feedback. We welcome all that we can get. We're hoping that the GPS gets done soon. We've requested all the companies to have our property done. I think they're waiting Google Earth to update. most of them use that service to mark golf courses. We look forward to seeing you again.
Great course
Best value for your money great staff.
Thank you for your feedback. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Great 9 hole course
Very nice new links style course Only 9 holes 10-18. Great condition. Friendly staff. Bring your range finder. No gps yet (Skycaddie). Really nice range. Small bag of range balls included with round.
Thank you for your feedback. We did have SkyCaddie out over a month ago. Hoping they have it updated by now. The other companies (Garmin, Golf Buddy) have been contacted, just waiting it to get finished. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Very Challenging and In Perfect Shape
This was my second time at Plantation Lakes. As others have mentioned, it is at present just nine holes, with the front nine scheduled for 2018. However, the nine holes that are open are very challenging, including several par 4's over 400 yards; sloping fairways; lots of water; and deep bunkers. The course is links style. Fairways and greens are in perfect, championship condition--no bare spots or weeds, etc. My only complaint is the lack of easily visible yardage sticks, as there is no GPS coverage yet. There are yardage disks in the ground, but these take time to locate. Also, the par 4's are looong. Driver and long iron/hybrid to reach. Other courses might rate a couple of these as 5's. The 15th hole has much more bunker space than tee shot landing area, and there's a gigantic waste bunker that is nearly impossible to escape--it's a penalty shot. The staff is tops here, from pro-shop to maintenance staff--very friendly. Also, there's an ample number of water jugs over the course for cold water during hot summer rounds! Not a lot of trees for shade, tho. Overall, an excellent experience.
We appreciate you taking the time to comment on the course. We are working on getting more yardage markings done. We did add one at 16 to show where the fairway ends and starts back up. I had the DSGA out to discuss the two long par 4's and they felt they should be 4's. They certainly are a challenge. We look forward to seeing you here in the future.
New course, worth the wait
I saw this course as it was being built and was greatly surpised when I logged on Golf Now and saw it was available to play. I really enjoyed it and the people were great. The course was in great shape, with only 9 holes open it was still very nice. Course was fair with some tough hioles and others that let you get some strokes back on. It was all in all a great experience. Note: I like to play at about 6000 yards, so I played blues 1st time through and whites 2nd time in order to reach my desired yardage.
We appreciate you taking the time to review our course. We're glad you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you in the future.
Great new golfing choice near Millsboro, DE
Course just recently opened to public (had to be a resident or guest prior). Was very impressed with both course design and condition. Only 9 holes open now (play 2 rounds to complete), but will be adding other 9 within 2 years. Check out the course, I think you'll be impressed.
Thank you for playing and your feedback. We look forward to seeing you in the future.
Blown Away
Played here for the first time today after finding a GREAT deal on Golf Now. Only 9 holes open, still building the front 9. First 7 holes are old fashion links style and it is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect condition. If you live in the area it's a MUST play. Staff was SO nice, going back as soon as i get a chance lol.
We appreciate your feedback and are glad you enjoyed your visit. We look forward to seeing you in the future
Diamond in the rough
I am glad the course has been open to the public. I enjoyed the course. Will be playing again in the near future.
We appreciate your feedback. we look forward to seeing you in the future.
Beautiful Layout.
A must play if you play at the beach. I've played 18 courses at the beach in DE and Ocean City and this course is in as good or better than all of them. 11-14 is as challenging a stretch of holes to average par compared to any course in the area. Don't forget your sand wedge. Shot placement critical here. A must play.
Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you. I'll put 11-14 up against anything in the area. We look forward to seeing you in the future.

Thank you for playing with us and for your review. Our newest holes (16-18) are still firm and are a little hard to hold. That'll get better with time thankfully. Our large bunkers are 'waste' bunkers in which you can ground your club. We turn the sand/soil mix over to eliminate the weeds. it takes a couple of days to have it dry out so we can smooth it over. (holes 12, 15 18). We look forward to seeing you again.
