Yellow grass fairways
I'm sure sometimes this is a nice course but today it wasn't. Pace of play was okay however the fairways have huge dead spots in them. As I was walking by a bunker and noticed there was nice looking sand. The tee boxes are very rough. the greens were nice and fast however very bumpy and hard to read when they get that way. Overall experience thumbs down.

Beautiful little course. Lots of different looks, good condition.

Greens were nice, fairway grass was long like being in the 1st to 2nd cut, make sure 2 wear water proof shoe,s if not bring extra socks, but nice course really green

The course is in excellent condition. Had a very nice round! Will definitely come back and play again
Better than being at work!!
I love this course. Usually it is in great shape and everyone is friendly. The pace of play was slow today but that was just because of one group holding everyone up..what are you gonna do.. it was a great day regardless and any day on the course is better than a day at work.
Kern River Golf course
Always enjoy playing at Kern River. Love the long Par 3's. Greens are great.
Public Course
Kern River golf course is a challenging course to play, which makes it so fun, with the long par 3's and challenging pin locations, but the greens are very forgiving in the fact that there is a lot of green to work with, but don't let that fool you, because sometimes they break more than you think, or not much at all. The course is in great shape and the staff is really friendly, especially the ladies in the bar, I definitely recommend getting food from them while you are there. I hope you enjoy this local public golf course as much as I always do.
Great Value
Good golf. The starters and food service was grouchy. The food prices are very good.
Fun course
Kern River is fun course. Not really long but quite challenging. Several holes require thoughtful placement off the tee. Greens are reasonably sized fir the Valley. Great value. I’m looking forward to the next round.
Kern River Golf course spring time review.
This golf course is in very good condition with the exception of wet sandtraps. The best shape this course has ever been that I can remember.
Best Public Course
As the title says, Kern River golf course is, in my opinion, the best public course in Bakersfield. The green are always well kept. The fairways are always cut and green. I enjoy playing Kern river as much as I can. The staff is always welcoming, and you can’t go wrong with ordering from the kitchen. Thank you guys for giving us a great golf course in Bakersfield.
