The clubhouse is very clean and people are friendly. The carts are always charged and I have never run out of battery. The front nine holes seem to always be better cared for than the back nine. The grass is greener. Less dirt areas and grass conditions all seem to be better on the front nine. The back nine grass also seemed to be more water logged for my last visit but still not a big deal. I rate the entire Riverlakes experience as a 4.5/5.

This place is well kept and affordable. The Greens are not hard has a nice layout, cannot complain for price.

I play here about three times a month. The course is in good condition and the staff is always friendly.

Occasionally I’ll get stuck behind a fivesome, which they allow and play gets slow.

Overall it’s always an enjoyable round.

Great course in terms of quality of the grounds. Roughs aren’t too bad, plus fairways and greens are nice and well manicured. Pace of play was roughly 5 hours for Saturday 10am tee time, which was pretty slow around the Par 3s. Also, hated that there was a serious lack of free water (none at all, except at the bar in the club house) in between holes. Some type of Gatorade jug every 4 holes would be nice, considering it is Bakersfield. Other than that, the price is steep, but comparable to other courses in the area.

No sand in the bunkers. Greens are in good shape. Fairways are okay, a few of them currently have some bare areas but are getting better

1.Tee boxes and greens are in decent shape. Lots of divots at par 3 tee boxes and no sand to fill them besides what’s on the carts (I filled mine, but others have no etiquette). Fairways are ok. Some are patchy. About the same as our local muni courses. 2. Bunkers aren’t even bunkers. They’re just hard dirt holes. No attempt whatsoever to fluff the sand or even make it remotely playable. Unless you feel like destroying your clubs, you’ll pull your ball out of every single bunker there. 3. I checked every single ball washer there. Most were broken and every single one was empty with no towel. No way to clean your ball on the course at all. 4. Pace of play was HORRENDOUS. Took us 5 hours to finish 18. You’d hit and have to wait what felt like forever. I guess that’s what happens when you stack tee times at 7 minutes apart. The range is nice. Nicer than the course itself tbh. The only reason I gave this place an overall rating of two was the grill and servers there. The food was delicious and hot and the girl that took our order, Lindsey, was super friendly and nice and so was her coworker (my gf or I didn’t catch his name). I’d rather spend my money to golf at any of our other local courses. The price is more than our local munis, but the quality sure isn’t.

Only reason I golf here is it’s close to my house.. it’s always backed up and there’s no marshal. Most weekends if there’s tournaments they don’t tell you so your automatically backed up waiting for them to finish.. cart girl can’t mix drinks for you. The bunkers are like cement so don’t even hit my ball when I do land in the. 72 bucks for a round here is a scam
