Golfer Reviews
Fun newly revamped executive 18
Nice course that has a variety of distances from tee to green. The bunkers are well placed and challenge the average golfer. The fairways on the par 4's are wide and forgiving. The staff is helpful and friendly. The course is still lacking some finishing touches like a clubhouse and pro shop but those are coming soon. Overall great experience on the course and plan on golfing there often.
Fun little course
Lots of fun and a nice course to walk, although it is fairly easy to play it is great to work on your game there.
Layout fail
I played Birch Hill for the first time since the redesign. I would say to close again and redo the redesign. Not only have they shortened the design, but the overall layout is very cramped. They have tried to keep it 18 holes with what they have , but they forgot to ask themselves if they should. It would have been much better as a 9 hole design with more challenging lengths than 70 yards. Unfortunately, it can not get better given the space to work with. I did not think it possible to have a more tightly packed design than Brea Creek, but I was wrong. Play there once for the experience, then find a more interesting course.
Time Will Tell...
Played course on Day 3 of their soft re-opening. Played all 18. The course was fun, especially with all the greens, tee boxes, and fairways being fresh and new! Easy for intermediate golfers to get some pars. Staffing very helpful, especially Tanner! No clubhouse yet (just a trailer) and no electric carts yet. This being a Executive Par 59 18-hole course, I personally would not allow electric carts. Some of the holes are so short, it will just slow things down even more. I was very unimpressed with the walk carts as they were cheaply made and already several of them had broken strap hooks. The only nice part were the big wheels. No beverage cart out on the course (I understand they have that ordered as well). Lacking sufficient number of rakes around the bunkers (I understand that is ordered as well). I would normally say this was a little pricey for a walking executive course, however, while everything is brand new, I feel I got my monies worth. If the pace was as good as Sunday morning, it is a good value. Would like to see a players club option, at least for the driving range.
