The greens were in great shape and played well.
The green were in great shape . the fairways could use some work but, this is winter so we expect some fairways to be dry . Over all a good course for iron work.
Great price through GolfNow; Good opportunity to work on short game!
My daughter & I have played several 9-hole courses recently and decided to give Rancho Duarte a try. The golf course is situated just below the San Gabriel Mountains which provide a wonderful backdrop to your golfing experience (there are high-power lines that emit a loud buzz, but not too much of a distraction). The staff are friendly, the facilities well maintained and easily accessible from the 210 frwy. The course provides an opportunity to work on your short game. The greens are well maintained and the pin placements allow for reading the undulations. We will definitely play here again. Hot Deal price through GolfNow makes this a tremendous value!
Great Introductory Course
Great Intro course. Took my wife, who is just starting out and this course allows for her game to develop without being overwhelmed. This course is a good step up from pitch & putt 3 par courses. I highly recommend this course for us high handicappers to work our game...
This is a fun course for any golfer.
Short and sweet. A great course for people who are making the transition from 3 par to a bigger course. Helps any golfer to work on all aspects of their game.
Descent
I''ve been going to this course for the pass year and I believe this is like my 10th visit. There isn't much wait time, golfers seem to be in pretty good pace. With that being said, the tee boxes need work as it seems you're playing off the rough. Greens need to be better maintained but I do acknowledge that there has to be better etiquette from golfers, fix your ball mark. The one major complaint I have about this course, is their customer service. The golf shop employees are rude & have talk to customers with a demeanor tone. Over the phone they come off as arrogant and in person there they come off as too cocky.
Excellent value for executive course
Whenever I'm in the area, I try to squeeze in a round at this excellent, well-kept executive course in the San Gabriel Valley, where the 210 and 605 meet. Most golfers will be able to go through their entire bag of clubs on this nine-hole track, especially early on as they open with the 68-yard first hole before quickly reaching the longest hole at no. 3 (324 yards). The tee boxes are in good shape, most of the fairways are clean, and the greens are tricky at times. There is no water to worry about, but a few of the holes have greenside bunkers. This is a walk-only course, but it's mostly flat with a couple of elevated greens.
The practice area consists of a driving range, a putting green, and a small chipping area. A pro shop and restaurant are also on the premises, and the staff is friendly and courteous. I've played with different levels of players and all seem to enjoy the challenges presented by Rancho Duarte.
Tip: I've used golfnow .com numerous times. Paying $5-$8 for these nine holes is a absolute steal.
Good Value Good Condition
The course itself is great. During summer or winter it is always well kept. The par 3's look easy but dont let them fool you. You'll use most clubs in your bag so its never the same shot. Drivable par 4's keep it fun also. Only reason i didnt rate it higher was because the Pro Alex & his staff are not a friendly bunch. They have a problem with a heart felt hello & more then once when the course has been empty the staff has held you to the exact moment your tee time starts even if that meens sticking you behind a SLOW foursome!
