Lemoore Golf Crs
This is aa great course for all ages. The pace of play is above normally large courses. I recommend this crs front 9 provides you some very nice par 3's before the back 9 with much longer & tougher challenges.
Lemoore Municipal
Course was in pretty good shape for the 100 degree plus heat they were experiencing. The greens on the front 9 were in distress but back 9 greens were in better shape.
Summer 17'
This course has a fun layout that comprises an old parkland front nine and a newer 90s style back with far less trees and more mounding.
There are always excellent deals to be had and is the main reason to keep going back when combined with the always friendly and excellent staff.
The conditions continue to baffle. They seem to be making headway one month then the next it appears to reverse course. Lack of revenue is the most likely culprit.
Tees mostly good with a few bare and/or unlevel.
Fairways mostly good with a few bare areas and many areas that are severely bumpy (cart riders beware).
Rough is spotty and most off fairway areas tend to be dirt.
Bunkers have always been poor with hardpack dirt mostly. There were many with weeds, but there was a crew working on one and it was clear others had been worked.
Greens were mostly smooth but many had invasive grasses kikuyu or crabgrass IDK
May 2017
Greens are smooth and they are working on eliminating unwanted grasses. Fairways still bumpy but good coverage. The deals offered by email are good and make a drive to Lemoore worth the trip.
Great course if . . .
This course has an excellent lay out, and would be a great course if it had been properly maintained. Staff can not blame lack of moisture, just poor management
Rain rain rain
My lower than normal rating has everything to do with all of the storms and the cumulative damage to the course that has resulted.
My friend was able to get a 12$ hot deal with carts. Surprise! - no carts allowed and none of us were smart enough to call. Coincidentally I had taken my trolley out of the car which I never do. They were giving pull carts for free but did not have enough for the group.
Tees - some mud and longer than normal grass with some torn up areas
Fairways - some spots with standing water and many muddy areas but the grass is starting to come out of being dormant.
Bunkers - wet and hard packed with some standing water
Greens - slow but in fair to good shape overall, they still have some invasive grasses in areas
Overall the course is holding up pretty well to all the rain and it is certainly worth the price as there are always deals to be had.
Bad shape
This course is in bad shape… From the different types of grass on the green, leaves all over the course and branches cut down just laying everywhere. I only played because it was $10 and I cant see how they still charge people regular price to play on this course it's ridiculous. I wouldn't pay more than $15 a player to play at this course. I'd rather drive to Fresno and play
Great value
Fun layout with many birdie-able par 4s and 5s. Greens were in decent shape. Cheeseburger and fries delicious.
Had a great round with my father and finished just under 4 hours!
Way Better
This is my home course so play often and let me tell you this course has gotten so much better then it use to be. It still needs work but enjoy it every time I play
Another Update
The course conditions continue to improve. The greens were running slower than normal, which was good because the pins were set in extremely difficult (ridiculously fun) locations for the City Amateur that morning. There were two greens that had fresh gofer damage. Gofer not Golfer.
They are in the process of building a new short game area.
Once again there were juniors on the practice areas and the program is certainly one of the best in the area.
Nice to see this fun course continue to move forward.
Enjoyable golf.
I really enjoyed the golf course. My 1st time playing there and for playing a nice relax round of golf it was just what the Dr ordered. I would play there again if I'm ever in the area.
course has good layout
the greens were punch 2-3 weeks ago there in pretty good shape but i think another week or two they could be good and possibly fast
Update II
Course has really improved over the last few months. For a muni course it is a four star rating. Fairways have improved a ton and there aren't as many bad patches around the edges of the green. Whenever I'm passing through mid-week I never mind playing here as it's a good solid course to work on skills. Price is reasonable and pace of play mid morning during the week is great.
Update
Previous review has more details. The greens were rolling smoother than I have ever seen. The fairways/tees are showing signs of improvement. Bunkers are still poor and inconsistent. They even have two coolers on course now which is welcomed on these hot days. Overall the improved conditions, the great staff, and the excellent prices made me bump this course from two to three stars.
worth playing
The golf course was in decent shape. Although the greens had been recently plugged, you could still read breaks and rolled decent. Th e pace of play was very slow due to rain the day before but that is expected. Overall it was a fun course to play for the money and because the front and back nines play completely different.
Course Needs Work
I've played this course a few times now and conditions seem to be getting worse. The front nine aren't bad, however the back nine are in bad shape. The greens are ok (manageable) but the fairways and tee boxes are in need of some serious attention.
I understand the course is under new management now so hopefully conditions start to improve. I still enjoy going to the range as its natural grass and in decent shape.
