Lemoore Municipal
Average course conditions. Rates keep rising and the new management is ruining the local friendly atmosphere this course was known for. The city owns the course and has no clue how to make it profitable so it is a constant source of scrutiny and debate. They say they are still cheaper than Valley Oaks in Visalia which is true, but there is no comparison between them as Valley Oaks is superior in every way. It sometimes takes 30 minutes to check in on a weekend because the attendant is so slow. There is no public golf course competition for this course within a 40 mile radius so locals flock to it.
Decent course
This was my second time playing here and I'll go back again. Overall length and difficulty of the course is moderate which is a plus for a beginner like me. Due to the California drought and extreme high summer temps in the valley some of the fairways are in poor shape, especially on the back 9. I don't see that as poor course maintenance just a difficult position for the grounds crew to be in as all residents in the area must now get water permits before installing lawns. With that they have managed their limited water use well and kept the greens, tee boxes and approach areas in good shape.
Good value.
Fairways were being plugged. They needed it cause the lack of rain had made the fairway very dry. But overall this course is a great value if you can get a discount.
Good day
Had a good time with long time friend at Lemoore golf course.Course was in good condition.
RUDE PLAYERS AND LACK OF COURTESY
Not sure if a marshal is needed, but my wife and I got hit into (pushed) several times. When confronted, the Men (yes adults) and then (kids) played stupid. Also, no one seems to be fixing divots. Groundskeeper needs to fix mud holes.... without rain it is obvious that the mud is from improperly rigged/leaking sprinklers...
Tale of two nines
The fun part of this course and the reason to make a trip once in a while is the differing nines. Front nine old parkland style. Back nine typical nineties design (many might call it a links).
Pace - 5 - Played alone with cart and after passing a fivesome at the turn (whom could/should have let me by much earlier) played the round in roughly 3 hours.
Course Conditions - 2 - Drought was evident as with most courses in Cal. Greens were shaggy and slow with a few dead patches and spots of crab/other grass. Bunkers all looked consistent and the one I was in was good. Tees average at best. The fairways were/are always lacking, I understand water conservation, but regardless of the quality of grass cover these are hands down the bumpiest fairways I have encountered. Anyone who has ridden in a cart here can attest to the fact and describe being jostled and bounced even in the center of fairways.
Staff - 4 - Great staff and one of the reasons to play here and return. They are happy to see locals and visitors alike and they have a thriving junior program. Kudos!
Value - 4 - Good prices standard and if you sign up for email or use golfnow the prices are great.
Food - 3 - Solid food good prices.
Facilities - 2 - Average when it was new and now aging but well kept.
The overall rating of two stars comes mostly based on the course conditioning and partly on the aging infrastructure. The design is fun and is certainly worth a visit and during certain times of the year the conditioning is also better (except the bumpy ride). The lack of a large population base and the corresponding income is keeping this course from reaching it's full potential.
Familiarity Breeds Contentment!
Been playing Lemoore for 15 years and love it! The school girls were having a tournament so only played 6 holes but will surely be back!
pretty good course
its like playing two courses in one. the front is like a jungle with lots of trees and the back is wide open, almost link like.
Lemoore golf course
Soild course but a lot of noise from vecihles driving by
Pace of play was a little slow it was a weekend so normal
Nice course, good shape , but 5&6somes ??!!
Have played here several times over the past 5 years. Course is player-friendly, very little sand & water, good sized fairways , friendly staff. My only beef today (and on some other visits) is the pace of play. I unbelievably had to wait behind, and then finally pass, a 6-some and a 5-some on the front side (the 6-some started that way on #1, it wasn't 2 separate groups that joined up later on ) .When I got to the 14th tee, forget it, it was slower than molasses in January the rest of the round. Granted, it was mid-day on a Saturday, and I expected a slower round, but they desperately needed a ranger to either force the slower groups to pick up the pace , &/or let the faster groups play through. & prohibit the 5 & 6-somes during busy times
Great facility for practice, play or tournament outing.
Greens in terrific condition, fairways and bunkers kept in good shape. Friendly helpful staff.
Great
Always a great well maintained course staff is friendly greens are good fairways clean i play here 2 a mobth and always enjoy course
Good course
Have fun playing this course. Not as good as others but still fun to go out with buddy's and play a round of golf
This course is always great!
I have played this course for years and find it fair and rewarding.
Some improvements needed
Course is rough and fairways need some work. In the golf carts they need to start putting sand and seed so the divots on the fairways can get repaired. Tee boxes are not level and many holes you are either above or below you feet
Nice course decent price
Experience was disappointing because of a tournament I had no indication was scheduled..made for very slow round
Lemoore Golf Couse Municipal
This is a great course to play. The back 9 holes are worth the drive. Plays long with bunkers and lots of water hazards.
Great value for this course
My buddies and me enjoy playing htis course. Great people and well maintained course for the fees. Recently re-worked bunkers with soft sand and well maintained. We play in high 80s and mid 90s so this course is a joy to play. Beautiful water hazards that adds to the challenge for us.
Lemoore golf course
Course has two different 9 hole styles. The first nine is short, and has many trees. The back is links style and newer, with water hazzards. It is a fun course to play.
