Golfer Reviews
Greens in shambles
They just punched the greens not a week ago so I wasn’t expecting anything special but the fringe is completely gone. Chipping from anywhere close is difficult considering most of the grass has turned to hard pan. Fairways are in good shape but for the price you are going to pay it probably isn’t worth it. Also the staff can be very off putting.
Beware of Hot Deal
Dragon Fly is usually more expensive. Now I know when Dragon Fly has a deal, it’s because course is under some type of improvement. I wish I had been made aware that greens had been plugged and sand was all over every green. I only played 9 because sand was so thick on the green that there could be no true putt made.
Weird stuff around the green
Pace of play was a little slow we had 4 people riding 3 different carts playing super slow took us 1:20 to finish the last 4 holes. The course had this weird black paint. Around all the greens and it looked different the greens were sort of beat up. The kid at the clubhouse was great the young lady at the first tee looked like she didn’t want to be there unfriendly when I asked if they did a military discount she said rudely “ we don’t do that here”.
Rough Golf Course
It’s not quite Spring yet so the Course is in Sub par condition. Greens running very slow for Dragonfly Standards. I’ll be back in a few months when course is in better shape
Sandy fringes
Normally the place is well taken care of, the fringes and pin placements were terrible. I’ll play this course again in the spring, prices are wild and course has never played that bad, played better when it’s punched greens.
Great Course
Great course in great shape for this time of year. Great views and wide open for players of all levels. Greens were notably slower than practice green but still in good shape. Great value if you get a hot deal tee time.
February
Beautiful day, light wind and clear sky. Always a great place to play when in town, and worth the trip. Staff are friendly and helpful. The GPS and slope screen for the greens are helpful. A must for the bucket list!
Great layout but expensive
They upped their prices again with not noticeable changes to the up keep. There are still large mud pits of the 8th and the 4th greens and for the price one might assume these have been fixed. All-in-all it is a great course that is great for long hitters, be prepared to be puzzled by the up keep and the pace of play occasionally. Also the occasional ball cleaner would be nice, again something that I feel should be available for the price you will pay.
long drive average course
course was average compared to what the website shows. I will play it again when it is spring or summer time to see if its in better shape
This course is really challenging. You’ll have fun when you play.
Great winter playing surfaces
Despite the winter soggy weather, course was easily playable with no mud puddles while I was there. Sand traps are the best I've played while the sand was wet.
Some down sides: the cart direction signs were backwards on several holes leading us to get our cart stuck and having to back out to turn around and go the other direction. Tee times were 10-15 minutes behind causing congestion on the front 9. No marshals were present on this very busy day(never have been for any day I've played).
With all that said, this is still the best public course around.
Great Day of Golf
The rate of play was a little slow, and several of the groups in front of us were not repairing their divots on the greens. The tee boxes were pretty worn down, but the fairways were in good shape. Still had a great time on the course though!!
