Golfer Reviews
I'll be back!
I played this course for the first time on a wet, windy Saturday morning. Our round took about 4.5 hours due to a fairly slow set of foursomes in front of us. They had punched the greens 4 or 5 days before we played, so I felt like we got the worst version of them. I can see how fun these greens would be once they've bounced back. This course is long, but pretty wide open. The layout was super interesting, and at no point did I feel "golf deja vu". The greens are all protected by bunkers, but they're big enough to give you a fair target. This course's main defense is the wind. It felt like we only tee'd off once or twice with the wind helping us. Every shot was a challenge, but a fun one at that. I'll definitely be back to play here again!
PS- the bacon breakfast burrito was an all-timer. 5 stars just for that.
Too Expensive and Bad Condition
This course is way too expensive! I lived in the Bay Area and Played Cheaper and Much Better Courses! Holes have been under repair for over 2 Years! No one responds to emails. No verified senior rates!
Best course in the valley
Always an awesome experience playing here never disappoints great staff and course is always in great shape
Relaxing
Long course but fairways are wider than other courses so you can drive freely. Second shots are the key on this course because of guarded greens and length. How good are you with long irons. Greens are fair and in good condition. Relaxing round of golf. Will definitely play again.
Needs some attention
Great layout but the course needs some spring freshen up which they were doing to the bunkers. Greens were great, tee boxes bare.
Hidden Gem
Played twice in a week for my first time here, and I have so many good things to say. The course is this perfect balance of risk reward, what a great track, absolutely loved it! Course was in fabulous shape, pace was great (I played early), staff was nice, i definitely recommend this course. Super fun, I’ll be coming back. The holes are all unique and present different challenges. Can’t wait to see it later in the spring/summer.
One Thing Missing
As usual, the staff at Dragonfly was absolutely top notch. Particularly AJ and Ethan. Never have had a bad experience with the team at this course. The only thing that is desperately needed is a Marshall. This course is gorgeous and has a fantastic reputation for being high end but affordable. However seeing players so drunk and high that they are running around with no shirt on is just unacceptable. And this particular group wouldn’t let anyone play through so it also slowed the pace for following groups.
Very Slow Pace
This course was in rough shape tee boxes & fairways. No overseeding so vanilla grass everywhere except the greens. Greens were in good shape for late winter. Lots of sand traps that were also well kept. Pace of play was 5 hours with no Marshall ever seen. Value was OK but not worth a return trip.
Perfect Day Of Golf….Almost
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Dragonfly, as I do every time I tee it up. However there is one glaring problem that has never been addressed as long as I’ve played there. MARSHALLING! It has become absolutely imperative to have a marshal patrolling the course. I teed off by myself at 10:45am. By time I got to the second tee, I had a five minute wait to tee off because the player ahead of me (single golfer) was waiting for a foursome in front of him. By the time I got to the fourth tee box, this gentleman and I decided to play together to save time. We waited on that foursome, who we found out was also waiting for a fivesome in front of them, the entire day. Neither group showed any intention of allowing us to play through. This is where a marshal would be a huge asset. I’ve seen marshals at every local muni course I’ve played and pace is always smoother than Dragonfly. For such a gorgeous and state of the art course, not having this simple thing is just mind blowing.
