Golfer Reviews
Course issues
I play here a lot, but lately I’m getting frustrated with the way it’s playing. 1) over watering the course has been a real issue, leaving soggy lies on the fairway and limiting the rolls/ distance.
2) sand traps are terrible, not just pebbles in them but rocks. Plus very little sand or just some dirt.
3) the flag positions are so bad lately. Not sure if the person placing them is playing a practical joke but either the flags is the far far back corner (within 2 yards), they’re in the very front corner with a bunker just in front of the green too or if you’re lucky and the flags in the middle it’s either middle-side or next to a big break.
I hate to complain but they real should improve these things, especially for a $100+ on the weekends.
Gold Standard
I’ve played a few times here and realize that I’ve been comparing all other courses to Dragonfly. This place has become my gold standard.
Great place to play
Excellent course to play. Green, well-kept up for the most part. Some traps needed some work. Price is good. Professiona and friendly staff.
Fair course
beautiful course with wide fairways. Not punishing.
Amazing
Nothing shy of pure enjoyment. Excellent course and range. Nice pro shop w/built in kitchen. Pace of play was perfect even on a busy Sunday morning. Martial was kind and cart girls made their rounds. Great first experience. Will definitely be back
Best condition in years
This course truly is in the best condition it has been in years. It is probably the nicest public course in town. The course is challenging and the greens in great condition.
Awesome Dragonfly
I always enjoy playing Dragonfly & I love everything about the golf course except the sand traps which need a lot of work. My only complaint is that one every green when we were trying to putt out the grounds crew was right by the greens with their vehicles being very disruptive with no knowledge of golf etiquette. Although I realize they need to keep water on the greens due to the summer heat, those crews need to be taught the proper golf etiquette when around players on the course.
7/6/2025 round
When I play there I find it very frustrating when I have to listen bells ringing and watch advertising on the yardage "screen". I come out to enjoy a round of golf with a friend or meet new friends and enjoy a relatively quite environment and enjoy the surroundings.
These interruptions reduce the enjoyment of a game of golf and the surrounding's. I may start playing elsewhere occasionally or completely.
Why can't I hit my driver at the moment
The course is fine but I'm struggling with my driver and I think it's a mental thing as I can hit everything else fairly well.
Round at Dragonfly was awesome
Great and tough course to play. Super windy that day also so that didn’t help but other than that no complaints. Course was in impeccable shape and pace of play was smooth as well. Highly recommend to any golfers coming through CA. Thank you again all the staff and workers. Will definitely be back.
Good course needs some work
Fringe areas around greens are in poor condition, some bunkers have no sand.
For what they are charging course should be immaculate.
Horrible Greens
It seems the course is currently struggling with maintaining consistent green conditions. Over the past several visits, the greens have been aerated frequently—almost every other week by appearance. On two separate occasions, I called ahead to confirm course conditions and was assured the greens were in excellent shape and had not been recently punched. However, upon arrival, I found that they had been aerated that very morning.
Additionally, the fringe areas around the greens are in poor condition, consisting largely of sand, patchy grass, or compacted dirt. During our most recent round, the grounds crew was actively mowing and watering the greens while we played, which led to multiple delays as we waited for them to finish their work and reset the pins.
Unfortunately, the course seems to have declined significantly over the past year. Until conditions improve, I would recommend considering alternatives such as Eagle Springs or Riverside.
