River Island Country Club

Front 9 pace was very slow due to a fivesome that was totally oblivious. They had 2 complete open holes in front of them after 3 holes. Absurd. Called the pro shop and the marshall came out twice to tell them they were holding up everyone. Came again and finally told them to let others play through. Took our threesome over 2 1/2 hours on the front; only 1 1/2 hours on the back nine. Pace of play is usually much better - amazing that 1 group had play backed up before they finished 3 holes.

Course is in good condition; most greenside bunkers have plenty of sand. Greens are coming around after being punched/sanded a few weeks ago.

Neither GN nor the course mentioned the sanded greens nor the tournament. Not good when two players drive an hour and the other two more than an hour and a half.

Pace was close to 5 1/2 hours

Most of course is green with a few patches of brown.

Course has a great layout in a rural location.

This course always is a challenge but they have it in pretty good condition right now. The fairways need a little help other than that the greens were rollin fast and the tees are in good shape. Had a blast and will be back soon.

I love playing this course and a lot has to do with the staff all around the course down to the workers out on the course . Great attitude from everyone there .

Love the course, the greens are tricky can't tell how their gonna play one from another. Club selection is critical alot tougher than I was expecting. I'm certain that I will play there many more times.

You can make this course as hard as you like by playing from the tips but for me a 14 handicap the whites were plenty of fun.

I prefer to walk and carry my bag but this course is not walker friendly, several long jaunts between green and the next tee.

The greens have a lot of slope making putting an adventure!

Didn't know they had punched the greens backside closed front side had so much sand on it, waste of time trying to putt

Great staff and excellent course. There are a couple of greens that they have had some issues with, but they are working hard on them.

The course has this forest theme that really sets itself apart from other courses in the valley. Some tee boxes are shaded, and seem to be tucked in these pockets of dense vegitation. There's a small lake nearby, and I think that helps in the summer months to keep the fairways nice and plush. I personally don't like that there is no phone reception, but some of my friends see this as a positive thing.

It is a nice course to play, we played during some extremely hot temps because we couldn't beat the price. But, it is difficult to sign up for an early morning tee time due to membership priority.

Challenging course with elevated tees, multiple carries over flowing river or ravines, downhill, uphill, sidehill slopes, valleys, doglegs right, doglegs left, long shots, short shots, sloped greens, etc...you'll need all 14 clubs in your bag. Breathtaking views with mature trees on every hole. By far the best course in the area. Once you play here, you won't want to golf anywhere else. Really nice patrons as well. Treat yourself to some great golf.

My buddy and myself had a very good day playing this course. This course layout was very nice everything was nice and green. The only issue that we had was we had never been there before. There's no layout on the scorecards. Overall it was a good day and we will go back.
