Not worth it
I grew up playing here, and i never knew about quality. This course will always be a pleasant place to be for me but I can’t pay 55$ for a round here. The fact that I can go to Blackhorse or Bayonet and play a round for less money is absolute robbery. I understand Fresno doesn’t have a good selection of courses and things are expensive now. That doesn’t give them the right to charge more money than beautiful courses on the coast. It’s winter and they charge 55$ at 2pm on a weekday.

Solid Course
Play this course quite a bit and it’s a great course. My main complaint is that the first hole green has been under repair for what seems like over a year and has a temp green in its place which is super annoying. Other than the that the greens are always in good condition with the occasional dead spot and ball marks. For its price it’s one of the better options in the valley

Staff was welcoming and helpful. Course fairways were a little rough and greens were recently punched but overall nice.

Not worth the price
There are a lot of courses for less or nearly the same within one hour radius that are way better for the $$ this course is not in good conditions at all for how much it costs. The staff is very friendly though. Only upside

Horrible Condition
Course is in absolutely awful condition right now. I haven't played Sherwood in about 2-3 months and the last time i played there, hole #1 green was relocated to a temporary green in the fairway, its been at least 4-5 months and it's still there. The tee boxes need a deep recovery, they have all been moved up to the red tee locations because the farther back tee boxes are thrashed. It's becoming one of the worst courses in the central valley, i haven't seen any improvements in a long time. The only reason i paid 36 to play was because it was a hot deal, i would no way pay 50 bucks to play here, its unbelievable they still charge that much for this place.

Don’t recommend
Likely the most “cramped” course I’ve ever played. Upon entering the driveway up to the parking lot, beware of errant range balls. They could easily crack your windshield on your way to the parking lot. There were multiple six-somes that they allowed to play and I saw several people sharing bags and clubs even though it’s stated in their rules- no six-somes and everyone must have their own bag and clubs. We waited around 10-15 minutes on each hole. SUPER slow pace of play and lots of people that aren’t courteous. The tee boxes and greens and adjacent fairways are super close together in many holes and you need to watch out for people hitting in every direction. We almost got hit quite a few times. The green are in okay condition- lots of residual aeration scars and doesn’t give a true roll. Oh and it’s also hard to find you ball- lots of crap below the tree line. Overall would never play here again and risk my life.

Greens/course
The course was in real good shape except the greens were recently sanded so putting was eh! Hole 1 has been under repair for months and it’s had a temporary green. Easy to make par. The hole should be online real soon. The Starter let me go on 1/2 early.. it’s a very nice course and challenging with lots of trees and narrow fairways.

Nice course the the money
Fun place to play at a good value. Staff is friendly and course is challenging with all the mature trees. Greens at time of play were fair, some had bare spots or some type of fungus growing.

Decently Kept Course
Been looking to play something outside of the Fresno area, Sanger has this fun course right by the foothills. Lots of tight fairways requiring you to play other clubs than your driver. Some greens weren't kept the best, but overall the course was kept up very nice. Definitely not a trailer park course. I did get lost two times trying to find hole 4 and hole 17. Maybe a bit more signage to direct first timers. I shot my best ever here (87) but it was a fairly short course. Lots of 300ish yard par 4s.
