Worst greens in the Central Vally
Putting lines through divots and sand. Good luck. It’s fair if you add 2 strokes to every whole to make it a par.
Greens unplayable
Seems as though nobody knows how to maintain a golf course here. Take more than a lawn mower. The greens are horrendous. You are putting through dirt and sand more than half of the greens. This is worse than most municipal courses. Don’t bother trying to read a green when your ball bounces left to right 3 to 4 inches in any direction during a putt. How they can feel okay charging money to play a course in this condition is beyond me. Seems as though nobody out there cares anymore. It’s sad because it use to be a pretty nice course.
Grass conditions below average
This course needs to fix the conditions of a couple of green areas immediately.
Hope they fix the course soon, kind of embarrassing to charge the community the money to play a course that is realistically unplayable on 16 of the 18 greens. Atleast drop the price.
Sherwood Forest
I do not play as much as I use to but was a member for 10 years back in the mid 80ties and early 90ties course was always in great condition. A friend and me decided to go play it, The green fee 56 something about Norman for this area. The fairway where awesome but the green where mostly burnt and dirt they use to have some of the best greens in the area. Over priced for condition in my opinion.
Trash
Every single green is trashed with a fungus and dirt. Club house made no mention of this until we got there and had to pay full price and didn’t even offer discounted fees for the future IF you were to come back. I will not be back for a long time. Sad to see this course has become a joke.
First time here
Great course, we had a blast and enjoyed the layout a lot. Greens were in rough shape but Im not at a skill level to really be complaining about that. I will definitely be returning and recommending this course to others. My one complaint was that we paid for drinks at hole 6 with the cart girl and she didn’t get back to use until hole 17 so yeah that wasn’t great but otherwise it was a great day to play.
Disease Greens!!
I played on 07/28/24 and paid full price ($62) for the worst greens I have ever seen! The club house did say they are fighting a disease on the putting greens. That was an absolute understatement!! The only green part on the putting greens were weeds! And the rest of the putting surface was dirt. About 25 percent weeds and 75 percent dirt on every hole. I don’t see how they are seriously charging full price. Sherwood should be ashamed. A avoid Sherwood at all cost until they address the putting greens.
Horrible Conditions
Greens were horrible. Weeds and crabgrass all over the greens. Additionally all the greens looked like they were suffering from a fungus yet they still charge full price? They also allowed a group of 10 players to golf together making for a 5 hour golf day.
Beware!!
The fairways are not well maintained, and the greens are absolutely horrible. The greens are growing mold and are absolutely trash. I paid $60$ to play 18 holes, and the course was nowhere near worth $60$.
We're truly sorry to hear about your experience with our fairways and greens. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we're committed to improving our course quality.
Horrible course
Course was horrible! Crabgrass everywhere! Greens weren’t even green and crabgrass all over it. Save your money!!
We are truly sorry to hear about your disappointing experience due to the condition of our course. We appreciate your feedback and are actively working to address these issues.
Greens are rough
Golfed there today. Normally it’s really great, but the greens on the front 9 were absurd. The extreme summer heat definitely has done its share of damage. Hard dried out areas, crab grass growing in multiple spots on the greens. Straight putts hit random growths of mowed down crab grass and are redirected. Not quite sure what happened because I’ve played here before and it’s wonderful, but it’s rough as of today. Dropping a flop caused balls to bounce like they hit asphalt, bouncing and rolling off the green. No matter how much spin, balls would not stay on the greens. The back 9 was great and the greens were much better. If you’re only playing 9 holes, kindly ask if you can play the back 9. They may or may not let you, but it’s worth a shot to ask.
We apologize for the condition of the greens and the experience you had with the pace of play; thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are addressing these issues to improve our course and service.
