Great play for a quick 18
Played on Sunday morning and pace was fast from tee off. Old timers get real anxious behind you. I was continuously asked to join the group ahead of me. Course was in great shape. Great iron play/short game practice. Great play for your $. 18 holes in about 3.5 hours.
Will return.
course in good condition
played 36 holes. had course to ourselves. great pace. All fairway in good condition. Greens were outstanding. best condition I have seen them. Great deal for the price and a good course to practice your short game.
nice little course
Great opportunity to work with your irons, feels good driving the short par four 15th. Greens were pretty good (a little on the slow side but nicely kept).
Not worth the money.
This course is in an inconvenient location in Sun City.
The course was good but had one overall complaint.
We had a group of 4 golfing and one of the golfers brought his 5 year old to get some time at the course. The golfers ranged from the ages of 21-28. We've been golfing for a couole of years now so we know the rules and golf ettiquete. We did not appreciate how one of the maintenance men kept following us and checking up on us as if we were doing wrong. The other golfing parties enjoyed watching us golf and teaching our 5 year old the ropes. However every 2 holes we kept getting checked up on by the same maintenence man. It got to the point where he would sit in his cart and watch us from a distance thinking we couldnt see him. It was very annoying. We didnt enjoy our last few holes because of it. If that was to happen to is again we would definitely stop golfing there.
Hot Day Fun Play
My husband and I like to play North Course because it is a fun, but challenging Par 3 and 4 course. It has some long Par 3 holes and the greens are in decent shape. This time of year is hard on all the courses around here. On a hot day, you can get on this course and have it all to yourself.
Easy course to play!
Great course! Open fairways & very forgiving. Perfect beginners course. The staff & other players were very friendly. Would certainly recommend this course & will most definitely go back!
Walkable with good greens
I play this course on a regular basis. The greens are well kept, though occasionally a bit slow. There are 11 par threes that vary in length from 95 to 185 yards. All of these holes pose unique challenges--e.g. bunkers (all but one), length, undulation affecting putts and the ability to hold shots to the green. The quality of sand in the bunkers is often poor. Non-par three holes are all par fours, three of which are around 375 yards and pose significant challenges for average golfers. Three of the par fours are rather short 275-350 yards and offer birdie opportunities for intermediate golfers. The shortest par four (#17, a dogleg left) can be reached with a good drive which must carry some tall trees that stand about 180 yards from the tee. Fairway grass is sketchy, so improving one's lie in the fairway on par fours might be a good rule of play. Areas around the greens, however, are generally lush and well kept, with some challenging lies in the rough. As the review title indicates, this course is walkable, and a round should not take more than 3 to 3 1/2 hours to play. I've played by myself in as little 2 1/2 hours. The course does attract beginners who may hold up play but these groups generally allow better golfers to play through.
Nice place to play
This is my go to course now. I really enjoy playing this executive style course. It is a challenging and will make your iron play better. No need for driver on this course which suits me just fine. A most for any golf level.
Bang for your buck
For new golfers this course is perfect we'll maintained course good for beginners or amateurs to learn how to just get the ball down the course open fairways and nice greens
great time
As a first time user of Golfnow, I was pleasantly surprised at check in, it was effortless. the temp was around 85 and the course was well kept, had a great time. course is fun and has a few holes that are challenging with sand guarding the pin placements, but not too challenging, plan on going again soon.
Excellent for playing a quick round
Staff, as always, is very courteous and friendly. Greens have always been in excellent shape. The people playing this course are generally very nice and friendly as well.
Excellent Greens
North Golf Course is a good course to walk or ride. The members have taken really good care of the course. The greens and tee off boxes are in really good shape for the time of the year. Some challenging Par 3's and 4's with bunkers placed right in front of the greens. Good course to work on your iron play.
Fun Day
Played on Wednesday @ 1pm. No one behind or in front of us. Perfect course to play with the wife. Par 3 and 4s, 61 total.
Best keep secret in the Inland Empire
The North Golf Course is located just off highway 215 in Sun City, CA! Great course for those who want to walk and play a fast round of golf! Perfect for seniors, juniors, and beginners! The greens are in great condition and always a challenge! No water hazards but slopes on several fairways make for interestring play! Lessons are available, plus putting and chipping greens to warm up!
Best kept secret in the Inland Empire
Excellent course for all skill levels - for those who like long courses, this is a good course to practice the short game. The fairways are narrow and the greens are challenging...have been playing the course for over 10 years and keep coming back to play. Walking the course is easy - great way to get your exercise while enjoying golf with friends! Great for senior golfers and juniors... lessons are available for beginners or those who want to improve their game! See you on the course!
Complimentary North Course Round
Let me start by saying that I'm not one to ever take the time to review golf courses, restaurants or any other establishments. However, Golfnow contacted me with a complimentary round if I would follow through with a review.
Today I played North Golf Course (NGC) in Sun City, CA. I'm from Riverside and have played just about every course in Southern California. I had no knowledge of this site which is only about 25 miles away. I was immediately concerned that I had never heard anything about a course so local. Given that, here is my review.
NGC was very easy to get to. Just off the 215 in Sun City. It's an executive course at par 61. I played on a Friday morning, good weather, at 10:33 and it was not busy. The two staff members that I encountered were very nice. I played with three other guys that were locat to the community. They were typical senior players that enjoyed the convenience of their local course. The tee boxes were in decenct shape but most of the back tees were pushed forward for whatever reason. The fairways were hard and fast, which is typical of most every other place in the Inland Empire due to the hot and dry winter which we are experiencing. Most of the greens had extreme breaks from back to front. They were very healthy and I imagine most of the budget is spent on them, which I appreciate. Although the green looked great and rolled true, they were a bit slow. The overall layout was pretty short and generic, with a few decent doglegs thrown in. All in all, NGC exceeded my low expectations.
Would I recommend NGC? I believe the primetime weekday rate with a cart was $31. I can't jusity this as a destination. If your going through, and can find a discounted rate at about $15-$20, it's a good place to tune up before a more ligiment round.
Thank you for taking the time to review the golf course and sorry you felt we were "watching" your group. We do have a course marshal to assist with speed of play and other issues that arise during the golf rounds. I will talk to my staff and make sure we are not annoying golfers while they play.
