Bag work Wednesday
It's been 10+ years since I've played this track.
Greens good, fairways not so much, a lot of dirt. Course challenging, an iron from the tees is your best bet.
Fun afternoon, cheap and a three hour round.
Will play again.
Eh!
Well this course has seen better days. I have played this course a dozen plus times in the past 8-10 10 years not I clusi g the covis years but this last time will be the last time. poor maintenance golpher holes throughout the tee boxes, foot tall grass around greens, no cart service, and no restaurant. well thats it gents, not Wirth the $50+ morning fee.
Worse course ever!!
Worse course I’ve ever played, multiple tee boxes that resemble sand boxes. Everything was overgrown, literally only one staff member on the entire course. I felt robbed playing that course.
It could be better but it’s not the worst
For starters the staff is super friendly and the cart are all brand new and in great shape. The pro is virtually non existent since all they have is a couple of boxes of balls and drinks. As far as the course goes, the layout is really good and fun to play but the actual condition of the fairways, greens and tee boxes is not so good. All of the tee boxes are bumpy and least 6 of them were just sand with no grass in sight. The fairways were not bad but had a few dead spots here and there. And finally the greens, this was probably the worst part; most of them had a bunch of dead spots and some had grass completely missing. Overall there’s better courses in the area but this one is not as bad as people try to make it sound.
Worst course ever! Under bankruptcy!!!
Worst course I have ever played at. Course is under bankruptcy, was not aware until I showed up. Everything is in need of help. Grass on fairway was 3 Feet tall in some areas. So frustrating to loose 4 balls on fairway because of poor grounds keeping. Do not come here until this place has new management!
Enjoyable Despite Course Conditions
The course, especially most of the tee boxes, need a lot of TLC. Some tee boxes were virtually a sandbox with not a single blade of grass to stand on, and uneven to make matters worse. I still enjoy playing the course given the course lay out, as long as I get a Hot Deal. I would not pay full price for this course until conditions dramatically improve.
Friendly staff
I have played this course on/off for many years and the neglect at this point is the worst I have ever seen. The word is they have been trying to sale it for years, but it is not happening. I won’t play it for even $20! It is a sad sight to see the Cherry Hills of Murrieta… c’mon guys get it together as I enjoy playing this little track , but it’s ridiculous right now.
flying the plane while building it
The CA Oaks course is in bad shape but has good bones.
The course is potted with critter's holes everywhere and needs lots of love.
After 35 years, there are better muni courses.
MAYBE when the grill is open, the course is fixed, and the tee boxes are groomed, Ill try it again.
On a positive NOTE, the golf cart is in good shape.
Course needs to be maintained
For the price to play 18 here is hard to beat, but everytime I've come here I realize why I take such long breaks in between. The course is narrow and if you are even a foot off the fairway, good luck finding your ball. Even some fairways it can be an Easter egg hunt. Until these grounds get some upkeep I would not recommend coming here..
Dirt and sand tee boxes and biting fire ants
Terrible over grown weeds impossible to find your ball anywhere, dirt and fire ants everywhere. Trash everywhere DONT GO
Needs Maintenance
The course appears to be suffering from neglect. Majority of tee boxes are dirt, greens are thick and spongy and slow (need to be mowed), the rough is overgrown and balls hit into the rough, even 3 feet off the fairway, are easily lost.
Short but unforgiving
I wanna first say that this course isn’t nearly as bad as most people are saying. The greens are in very good condition. They’re playing very slow so you kinda have to hit your putts hard and attack the holes. Also there very receptive so you gotta carry your approach shots to pin high. Most of the fairways are in decent shape too but tee boxes weren’t. Now the main trick to shoot low here is to just keep your ball on the fairways and greens. You’re lucky if you can find your ball just off the fairway! lol. It’s a par 70 and like mid 5000 yards. So I only hit driver 2-3 times. Shot a 82. The hole layouts and background views are pretty bland but for how cheap it is to play, you cant complain. The carts are very nice and new too. Bar and grill isn’t open yet but still recommend this place.
CA Oaks
Fun course with good lay out and nice carts, however they need to do maintenance, current conditions are almost unplayable. Hit a good shot in fairway, and can't find ball, slim chance finding your ball in ruff. Greens OK Also, purchased Hot Deal with cart included, and they tried to charge $20 extra per person for cart. Only gave keys to cart once we showed receipt from TeeOff that showed cart included. This course has alot of potential if they just fix tee boxes and mow the grass!
Horrible conditions
The rough right off the fairway and greens where extremely horrible. Weeds and grass up passed my knee. I would hit a good shot that was playable but unless I stepped on the ball it was lost. I’ll never go back
Waste
I haven’t golfed here in a year, but thought I’d give it another shot. Waste of a course. If your ball goes 1 foot of the fairway it is a lost ball. They need to put the money back into the course. Hire a real course superintendent who knows what a mower is used for. Course could be nice if the owner would put money back into the product. Waste of your time.
Terrible conditions
I’m not an avid golfer but I golf enough to know that the rough shouldn’t be higher that my ankles. although I hit consistently in the low to mid 90’s I may lose 3-4 golf balls a game, this time I lost roughy 12. I’d hit a good enough shot and know exactly where it was but unless I stepped directly on the ball I’d lose the ball completely. I’ll never go back to this course and even though the price wasn’t bad it still wasn’t worth it. I purchased a hot deal with the cart included but they tried to make me purchase the cart. If I didn’t have a random guy there to question it I may have (stupidly) paid for the cart. Thankfully I questioned it also and showed the purchase on the app.
