Interlocken Golf Club - Sunshine/Vista
About
The Sunshine/Vista Course at the Interlocken Golf Club is one of three courses offered at the facility. The courses were designed by a team of famous golfers, David Graham who was a U.S. Open Champion in 1981 and Gary Parks. They are all nine-hole courses that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The mountainous terrain creates dramatic elevation changes. Interlocken Golf Club's greens are difficult to read and feature lots of undulation. There are also water hazards and bunkers that come into play. The beautiful scenery of the course allows for beautiful views and sometimes golfers can even see a fox or deer roaming the golf course.

Dreamy Day...
Played Omni Interlocken on 10/15/2014. I reserved my tee time through GOLFNOW for me and my regular playing partner. Got a great price and complimented the low price with a discount code at checkout for additional savings. Did really, really well on the price, and was able to play one of the premier courses in my area. Weather was perfect, course conditions were great, and the pace of play was incredible, while the fall colors on and around the course were in full glory. The staff at Omni Interlocken make SURE to spread tee times out so that you are not bumping up against the group in front of you, while not being crowded by the group in back of you. Very, very comfortable and relaxing. Saw so little of other golfers it felt like we had the course to ourselves. Just awesome! It will be one of my cherished memories of playing golf in 2014.
Beautiful day
The Omni is a challenging course especially if you don't play it often. The views are fantastic and the course is in great shape.
I played with one other person behind a foursome. They were pretty slow, but the folks in front of them were pokey, too. We did a lot of waiting.
But, it was a beautiful day, so we took in the scenery.
excellent conditions
Superb, true, fast greens. Great pace of play; as a two-some we got around in under 4 hours.
Challenging course, excellent conditions.
The course is in excellent shape, the greens are very true and pretty quick for this time of year. For a Sunday the pace was great, we finished in just under four hours. The staff is always friendly and helpful if needed. The course plays a little longer than what the card states due to te elevation changes. The rough can get long at times making this a challenging but fair golf course. Overall I recommend this golf course.
Omni Interlocken is a "Must Play"!
This course is one of the better courses in the North metro area, which makes it a must play. The staff is great, the course is beautiful and the views from the course are awesome. 3 separate 9s and plenty of challenging golf. I liked the elevation changes.
Like Old Tom says, "Go play!"
great time to play
Course was in excellent condition and as usual, the service was excellent.
Sand traps need more sand
Thin layer of sand atop hardpan doesnt allow a traditional sand shot as your sand wedge skips off the hardpan rather than sweeps under the ball thru the sand. Same condition in the several traps I visited.
Unfair in places, little quality control
Arrival: The staff did a good job of grabbing our bags from the parking lot almost as soon as we arrived.
Cart: The cart was clean and well stocked (towel, tees, scorecard) and had a nice little GPS with distances to F/M/B green. No cooler to be seen
Clubhouse: Really nice clubhouse, friendly staff, good looking and friendly bartenders. Watch out for the $9 hot dog though.
Course: Extremely unfair. We played the Eldorado 9 and Vista 9. The rough was longer than any course I have ever played (don't know if this was intentional or not). If your ball rolled 6 inches off the fairway, there was a good chance you would never find it again. Greens were extremely fast, but the course was in above-average overall shape.
Pace/Control: This is my biggest complaint. Multiple groups with 3 golf carts (even saw one group with 4) still playing at a 5 hour+ pace, no marshal to enforce rules, a kid running the starter who seemed more interested in the Broncos game instead of pushing out groups on time, and seemingly no control over what 9-hole course to play (you could easily have paid for 9 and played 27 and no one would have known(.
Overall: Not worth the normal price, but if you can find a good deal (sub-$60 I would say) the views are nice and it has a fair amount of elevation change and signature holes.
Fun Course
Played 18. Things were running a bit slow but the course was in good shape and a really fun course. Would like to play again now that I am familiar with the layout. GPS system could be better to give yardage for bunkers, water, etc.
Beutiful Course and Clubhouse
We truly enjoyed our round at Omni International. Rain dampened the experience, but over all, it was a real pleasure. The course is moderately difficult with numerous hazards. From the gold tees, all the hazards come in to play every hole.
Beautiful views, and very attractive holes. I totally recommend this course.
great staff and practice area
all things delightful at the omni today was the first time I felt the greens weren't in top shape. holes are great variety, in good shape.
A beautiful, pleasing to the eye course.
This was a very challenging course. Miss the fairway and it will play very difficult. The greens were a lot of fun due to the
multiple tiers and undulation. I would play this course as often as I could when I travel to the Denver area. For the golf fanatic, and weekend golfer, you will not be disappointed if you play the Interlocken.
Great green quality
This course is challenging but fair. It's what you want as a low handicap golfer.
Bad start just got worse..,
I arrived at the starter's podium to find my playing partner. He'd been waiting 15 mins for a cart. I asked the starter to please hold a cart so we could warm up at the range.
After 20 mins on the range...still no cart. I walked down to the cart return area to fetch one as we were teeing off in about 3 mins.
We then had to return to the starter, who had all the charisma of a 3-iron, to find out which of the three, 9-hole courses we'd be starting from. Info you'd think would be important enough to share at check-in.
As we teed off and made our way up the first hill, it was clear there was an issue with the cart. We asked the beverage girl if she knew any tricks and she said she'd call it in for us. After #2 I called to request it. After #3 it was totally dead and we were holding up play. Finally they arrived with another cart.
The course itself was irritating as well. The conditions are more conducive to target-golf style of play. Several decent shots resulted in lost balls due to rediculously long rough. Even the markers were annoying not mentioning the yardage or layout of the hole.
For $100 I think I can find a course more deserving than this for my time and money.
Good second 9
The course has three separate 9 hole courses. We played Eldorado and vista. Vista is definitely the better nine of the two. Eldorado looks like it gets the most play and is pretty beat in spots. Saw some parts of sunshine and it appeared to be nicer as well. Got a good deal on golfnow so it was worth the money, not sure If I would play if had to pay the full greens and cart fees. Course would also be very difficult to walk.
Great course, great staff
Played eldorado and vista. Had the entire back 9 to ourselves. The three 9 hole course is great. Solid fairway grass and some deep rough. Greens are kept well but very tough at times.
Would you like to be wowed!
Great golf course. Fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Service is second to none for a public course. Even on a Saturday, there were folks everywhere wanting to assist you. Yes, really, they actually want to help! In the days of, most courses barely have a drink cart service, Omni Interlocken is a breath of fresh air. I can't wait to take my wife to this one!
Surprisingly interesting course!
We were visiting from Minnesota and really wanted to get a round in. We thoroughly enjoyed the day. For a Sunday afternoon, the pace of play was excellent. We enjoyed the course layout and we will be back.
Great way to spend an afternoon.
The staff is top notch as are the facilities. Not cheap but everything is included. Cart, range balls, chub pickup at your car. Found the course challenging yet still fun for an average golfer. Looking forward to my next visit.
