Interlocken Golf Club - Sunshine/Vista
About
The Sunshine/Vista Course at the Interlocken Golf Club is one of three courses offered at the facility. The courses were designed by a team of famous golfers, David Graham who was a U.S. Open Champion in 1981 and Gary Parks. They are all nine-hole courses that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The mountainous terrain creates dramatic elevation changes. Interlocken Golf Club's greens are difficult to read and feature lots of undulation. There are also water hazards and bunkers that come into play. The beautiful scenery of the course allows for beautiful views and sometimes golfers can even see a fox or deer roaming the golf course.

Starter difficult and some greens had rough spots.
When I booked this tee time I called the course as they have 3 nines. I wanted to request the Eldorado/Vista course. I also wanted that confirmed so I did not have to load 3 courses into my Sky Caddie. The lady in the pro shop explained that they leave that up to the started but placed a request for this course on our reservation and said we could call back and confirm. I did call back the day before and she did confirm. When we got to the course the starter was difficult about sending us out on our confirmed course. He also question why we thought we were good enough golfers to play their most difficult course. Finally he assigned us there and when we started we realized there were 2 couples ahead of us and the women were slow we waited on every hole. We wondered why he would question our ability to play that course on a crowded Sunday morning but would send 2 women off ahead of us to slow down play for the rest of the day. We stil liked the course but there were some very dry places and dirt spots on some of the greens. This however is some what normal for spring golf in Colorado. We had a nice round once we got past the starter and we will go back as well as recommend the course. The dry spots will get better just be sure to call and confirm your course and hold your ground with the starter.
Good Pace of play
it always seems to be windy at this course. Also there was no beverage service which is disappointing for a saturday and also because you only pass the clubhouse at the turn.
Nice layout. Long hitters can go low.
It's a nice course and facility. Great staff. The condition was good for early season. Nobody held us up.
Winter conditions in Denver
Greens had been recently sanded and were inconsistent. Decent winter conditions for a Colorado course in the middle of March. Cart path only was in effect, which slows down the round. Omni is my home course during the summer and I recommend the course to anyone who wants to play a challenging course in the Denver metro area. The Experience was good quality.
Great March golf in Colorado!
Excellent course made better because Golf Now made it affordable.
Wonderful course, great views!
Golfing in Colorado in early February is something I certainly did not think I would ever do, but with the sun shining brightly and temperatures in the fifties expected, I jumped at the opportunity to play! Given that I was staying at the Omni, and the resort course was practically outside the hotel doors, I played there. First of all, the guys at the golf shop were simply great. I intended to rent clubs, but none were available yet somehow they were able to put some Taylor-Made clubs together for me to use--free! Thanks, guys! The course itself is laid out nicely, with enough elevations that it made the round rather fun! And the views from the higher elevated tee-boxes are pretty amazing and scenic! It is not a particularly difficult course, yet there are a few ravines you have to hit over, and enough traps to keep you on your toes. I really enjoyed the course!
good course for golfnow prices
fun, well maintained course. pace of play was a little slower than they advertise (not a suprise).
"easy" course rating based on lower handicap golfers (shoot 80's) that played with me. Several driveable par 4's and one or two driveable par 5's as well.
Nice track, course was in good shape for Nov.
Really enjoyed ourselves with this challenging course, lots of risk reward. Great vistas. 3 different nines, Vista, Sunshine and El Dorado.
A lot of the fairways are right under the runways at Rocky Mtn Airport, somewhat distracting having small planes flying right over your head. A minor negative. Rate of play was slow.
Five tee boxes to choose from for all levels of play, we played with our wives and they really enjoyed the variety.
Very good late season conditions and excellent value
My wife and I zipped around the course on a cool weather Friday morning. An excellent price through golf now made it one of the best value rounds we played this year. We typically play 60-65 rounds per year and travel put of state to play different courses. This was a good one close to home.
Tough greens. Fun layout.
I had a real fun time playing this course. Great layout. Drivable par 4's, reachable par 5's, good spread of yardages for par 3's. (It is a 27 hole hotel facility, and we played the Vista and Sunshine nines, so I can really only comment on those two.)
One thing: bring your A game with the flat stick. Not crazy big, but big greens with plenty of slope and nuance. I'm not a great lag putter, so three putts were all over my card.
Be ready for a fair but tough test.
The condition of this course is fantastic.
This course is in better condition on November 1st then most other courses during prime season. The greens are fantastic!
Nice course excellent value
Course in excellent shape. The greens could be a little faster
Nice course if you get a deal
This is a nice course, but the regular rates are too high. If you get a deal, it is a good course. Plays like a links style course, so it is challenging, particularly if you don't stay straight. They keep it it good condition. Get good directions, some GPS units give bad directions. I only listed this as not recommended because the choices were yes and no. I wouldn't normally recommend this course because I think there are much better courses in the area, particularly at the cost, however, other than cost, there is nothing bad about this course.
Excellent greens
Staff was friendly and professional. My friend was visiting and rented clubs that were filthy. Trash in the pockets and dirt packed grooves along with a dent in the driver. Pro was notified and he nicely refunded the cost of the rental. Cart boys need to step it up and catch these things. Pro handled it perfectly. Hate to be a cart boy after our meeting.
beauriful vistas
very beautiful course.very challenging as well. Staff is friendly and accomodating
ABSOLUTELY CLASS A IN EVERY CATEGORY
COURSE KNOWLEDGE IS A MUST TO SCORE WELL
OR PLAY TO YOUR HANDICAP. THE SLOPE ON EVERY
HOLE CALLS FOR PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO CLUB SELECTION. READING GREENS CORRECTLY IS
PARAMOUNT WHICH IS VERY DIFFICULT.
OVERALL A GREAT TIME IS TO BE HAD.
Nice course, the roughs were thick and ROUGH. Enjoyed the day.
I enjoyed the course, was challenging but fair. The staff was very friendly. The only issue was when we got there to check in for our round they had no record of it being booked. We showed them our prepaid receipt and they scheduled us right away(glad the course was not booked full). They were helpful and nice about the issue.
Fun, challenging course; difficult greens
We enjoyed playing the Sunshine and ElDorado nines. The course was in great shape that day. The pins were somewhat evil, as if the pin setter was in a bad mood.
Pace of play very good, course always in good condition, fair yet can be challenging.
For a Saturday afternoon and a resort course the pace of play was good, the two nines we played were in good condition and the staff was very friendly, I have played the Omni many times and it's always been enjoyable.
