Pine Creek Golf Club
About
Pine Creek Golf Course is part of the La Plata Communities in Colorado Springs. The course winds through the Pine Creek Valley, providing a lush and varied landscape. The course sprawls across high plains grasslands with abundant trees and lakes coming into play throughout. The seemingly gentle terrain has tricky undulations that total over 375 feet of elevation changes. The front is a canyon-style nine while the back is more of an American links design. There are creek beds coming into play on nearly every hole as well as strategically placed bunkers. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers stunning views of Pikes Peak, the Front Range, and the entire Colorado Springs skyline. At Pine Creek there is also a unique elevated, target-oriented grass driving range, a practice green, and a short game area.

A heavy frost covered the vegetation as the maintenance crews blew out the sprinkler system as we played. This is the tee box of # 11. Photo submitted by skibumcolorado on 11/21/2013
We'll charge you 18 holes to play 9 holes.
Upon entering the pro shop a heated discussion between the attendant and golfer about letting groups out on the 10th tee in-front of him - a single player. "We have no control of what tee's players start from." - said the attendant. "It's out of my hands and I can't do nothing about it." "I want to see the manager.
!" golfer demands. Attendant, "I'm the only one here." Golfer walks out.
Walked up to the counter, I called earlier and have a 18 hole tee for 5pm. 'Sorry can't do 18 you'll have to do 9 holes." "Why?" i asked. "We just had 3 groups leave at the back 9 and I have 2 groups coming at 4:30." Looking down at my watch i notice it was 4:44pm. "How much for 9 holes?" Pointing on a chart it reads $29 for 18 holes. I notice no listing for 9 holes. "$29" he says. So your charging me 18-hole rate to play 9 holes. Without blinking he says "yep, can't do nothing about it." I walk out. and so should you.
Good course and challenging.
The course was in very good condition and the greens ran at a very playable speed. Not too fast nor too slow. The course has good character with many different looks.
They paired us up with two really fine players and they were both positive and friendly.
Course needs marshals that work
The course was in pretty good shape, just some rough spots in certain fairways. The issue was the round took just over 5 hours. While I realize we teed off at 0830 on a Saturday morning the course has clocks on certain holes reminding players of the pace of play and while we saw a marshal a couple of times they appeared not to be doing anything but simply riding around the course. We even tried to flag one down but he simply stepped on the gas and sped off. There should be no reason a round should take longer than 4 hours and 15 minutes at this course. Pine Creek needs to talk to USAFA about how their marshals actually perform their functions. I will not be visiting this course again.
Great Course
Very good course and well kept and great staff. Enjoy!
Nice course. Poor service.
The woman in the pro shop was not very helpful or friendly. In fact, she came across as rude. We played another course the day before and the person at the counter was able to locate our reservation immediately and was very helpful and informative. In comparison, she had me look up on my phone and show proof that I paid in full online and made it quite clear that if we even stepped on the tee box on the back nine no rain check would be given. It flooded in the surrounding area on Saturday. Nice course but would not play there again.
Good Value for testing course
This course is very challenging with very narrow fairways. You must be very accurate or you are playing from even more challenging lies. Overall the course is well maintained and is worth the cost. I did like the GPS feature in the gas driven golf carts.
This course was in excellent condition!!!
This is the only course I choose to play in the area. Enough said.
A nice challenge and in great shape!
Pine Creek is a course that is more for the 15 and under handicapper. It has a lot of character. I really enjoy the test that this course provides.
Great value. Nice course.
All in all, enjoyable round. Course is in really good condition...recent rain has been quite helpful. My biggest complaint....lame ranger....a ranger is expected to ensure pace of play is reasonable. There was a 2-some and 4-some ahead of us, both competing for slowest playing group of the day. Looked for errant shots on EVERY hole. It was incredibly frustrating when we brought it up to the ranger and he said "there's not much I can do...what do you want me to do, hit them in the head with a bat?" Really?
Other than the frustration with the ranger, the rest of the experience was very positive.
GOOD COURSE - SLOW PLAY - IN GOOD SHAPE.
RECENT RAIN HAS THE COURSE IN VERY DECENT CONDITION. VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY A ROUND IN RESONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME WITHOUT MARSHALLING THE COURSE MORE EFFECTIVELY. THE GROUP IN FRONT OF US LOOKED FOR BALLS ON NEARLY EVERY HOLE.
Challenging course that's in great condition.
Excellent course! The course was challenging and the greens, bunkers, and fairways were all in great condition. Through GolfNow I was able to golf 18 holes for under $20 and it was easily the best quality-to-cost ratio I've ever experienced.
quite challenging
There is waste high grass along almost all fairways which makes it treacherous if you miss the fairways, course is well maintained
This course was a great bargain.
The course was challenging on the front and open and forgiving on the back. It was in great shape, well groomed and the views were amazing. There had been a tournament earlier in the day, so the start was backed up by almost an hour, but the pace improved by the 6th. My only complaint would be the beverage cart is cash only, and there is not an ATM in the club house. We were not prepared and did not have cash. I would highly recommend that is posted somewhere on their website and would hope they remedy the situation soon and get the beverage cart a card reader.
great views
great views with af practicing was too cool- pace was miserable- starter friendly- pro shop rude and very expensive-ranger needs to do job- I've played outings faster than this- miserable pace and everyone says weekends are worse- I cant imagine- a turn off- they must work on this- course in good shape- convenient to get to
Beautiful scenery
I am a low level player and I found this course fair and interesting. We try to play it a couple times a year. The thing I like the best about it is the layout of the course meandering around hills and land skirted by beautiful houses. The view is magnificent. The snack bar is barely adequate
Check in process and staff was great. Course in good shape and not very crowded,so no waiting.
Had a great round. Front nine tighter than back, greens in good shape. Only complaint was bunkers don't have much sand in them.
has a large variety of holes
easy to get to - every thing seams to break to the right
Challenging and well kept nice veiw of Pikes Peak
Make sure you play the tees according to your handicap, narrow fairways play was a little slow but real nice course over all and good value for the money
the course has a good layout
it was a little slow because a jr tournament we didn't know about when we booked online, this was the first time playingthe course
Way too much out of bounds
Teeing area is rough and needs lots of attention. Fairways are in poor shape and have too many divots. The out of bounds areas make the fairways too narrow and should be widened so that a more average player can have a reasonably good round. I don't think even a pro would like this course.
