The Golf Course at the Emerald Greens Golf Club is a nine-hole, par-3 course. Designed by Henry Hughes and opened in 1965, the course is affiliated with the retirement community Windsor Gardens, making it a semi-private. The course is suitable for all levels of golf, providing challenges that beginners can still handle while also serving as great practice for experienced golfers wanting to work on their short game. The greens are undulating and there are also bunkers. Emerald Greens Golf Club's fairways are wide open and water hazards come into play on over half of the course's holes. There is a heavy emphasis on shot accuracy since there are greenside sand bunkers.

Perfect Short course for the price point

This is a great little 9 hole Par 3 and the price point is always low enough that it gets me out there on those in between days. While short and fun, there is plenty of water, sand and the greens are not timid by any means. Anytime you see a less than $10 round here, grab it and worth it.

Always love this course

This course is great fun. It's easy for my mom to play and she lives right there so it's close and convenient. They even store her clubs now so she can play whenever she wants.

Emeral Greens is a Gem

This is a great short course to practice short to mid irons and putting. The greens are very slow and undulating, so it takes a while to adjust to the speed. The pace of play (90 minutes) makes Emerald Greens a great outing when you don't have hours to play.

Decent, inexpensive Par 3 Course

Being the first entire par 3 course I have played, it was not that bad. The area is in a retirement community that opens play to the public. #3 is a joke; two holes provide for about 200 yard shots with a wood. A game is about $7.50/rd on golfnow (after taxes); at the shop they offer you additional rounds for $5/ea and a buy one get one free beer at the restaurant after your round. Pace of play is quick; nice way to spend an hour and practice your short game.

Great short course

Emerald Greens is great for working on your short game. Longest hole is approx 197 yards. Some holes require mid-irons, most require wedges only. The course was in good condition for January and it is an easy, short course to walk. Some nicely placed hazards make this a little more challenging than most par-3 courses. My few constructive criticism points:
First, the young man running the pro shop was nice to me. However, during my round, some senior residents were walking their dogs along the paths on the course. There are numerous signs stating no dogs, but the employee came out of the office (with his own dog by the way) and berated the residents walking their dogs for about 5 minutes while I was waiting to tee off on the 9th. I felt it could have been handled better.
Second, the pace of play is a little slow. Lots of beginners at this course. It still went by quickly since it is a short course, but if you are in a rush or impatient, you may want to play/practice somewhere else. Finally, I could not figure out how to get in to the bar area. All the doors were locked and to get there from the pro shop required you to take off your golf shoes. I would have really enjoyed a beer during my round.
All of that said, its a great little course for short game practice and I will most certainly be taking my girlfriend there when I buy her a set of clubs this spring!

not worth it

don't bother unless you're 90 years old and hit the ball barely out of your shadow. slowest pace of play ever, all twosomes who don't pair up or let you play through. extremely boring course, an exercise in frustration waiting on tees longer than playing the holes. I walked in after 5 holes I was so frustrated with this place.

Good for short game practice

Played Emerald Greens (formerly known as Windsor Gardens) for the first time ever. Figured I'd give it a try when I was looking for a quick 9 to work on my short game. I didn't realize it was located smack-dab in the middle of a Senior Citizen retirement community, surrounded by their condo's/apartments! They don't bite or anything, but they do play slow, so even when I played two balls I had to wait on every tee. It's a good mix of easier holes and more challenging holes, and is very lush and green. There is a ton of goose droppings everywhere so watch your step. Took the full 90 minutes to get around, but when I finally finished I noticed the course was completely empty, so took advantage of the $7 replay rate to play another nine, and got around in half the time with no waiting, and scored much better.

THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM

After playing many par 3's in and around the Denver area I stumbled across this hidden gem. I've played it 6 times in the past 2 weeks. If you're looking for a place to work on your short game and have 60-90 minutes to spare, this is the place. As par 3's go, Emerald Greens is no pushover. Every hole has it's challenges and forces you out of your comfort zone regularly. The staff is incredibly helpful and eager to please. I would recommend Emerald Greens to player of all levels.
