Kona Country Club

What a special treat. We are blessed to be staying at our time share on this course as well. So my wife was able to watch me play a few holes from the pool area. The views were spectacular. Special treat to see and interact with lots of wild goats on a few holes. Saw some mongooses. The fairways were manufactured and the greens held the ball and rolled really well. Had a great experience and will play here again.

We have played this course for the last 2 years. Greens are in very good shape after punching 3 weeks ago. Fairways often have burned out patches now that we didn’t see a year ago. Goats are on most holes and deficating on tee boxes, greens and fairways. Running through traps, time to relocate them . This course has some great holes along the ocean that keep bringing us back.Bring some water with you as there is no water on the course and the small water bottles provided don’t last 6 holes in the sun after 9 am.

Course is in great shape. Greens were cut and rolled. Played the front nine in under two hours as a foursome. Back nine started with a few groups waiting on ten but staff came out and got things moving. Back nine played in 2:15 with the delay. Overall ok but slower than usual. It only takes one group to be out of position. Still a good day on the course.

This course has some great scenic holes and challenging holes.we always play here every trip to Kona. They punched greens a couple of weeks ago and they were pretty smooth but a bit slow. However, there were over 100 goats all over the course defecating all over the course, running through traps, denting greens and running through sand traps.This seems to be getting worse here every year. We hope it can be improved. I doubt the goats are native to Hawai’i and probably need to be relocated to the mainland and fences erected.

Older course with lots of character. Well maintained. The rental clubs were excellent quality. Overall one of my best experiences golfing.

Beautiful course, challenging, tough greens, awsome ocean views, very friendly staff, all in all an excellent day spent here. Can't wait to be back!

Played a very enjoyable round of golf at Kona Country Club. The course was in great shape with smooth greens and well maintained fairways. While the course is not a difficult layout the views and scenery are amazing. I play this course each year I return to Hawaii.

This course is in a great location so you don’t have to worry about the regular afternoon rains that affect the courses higher up the mountain. Lots of interesting holes and a few right along the ocean. Lots of goats on a couple holes but they don’t affect the play. Would definitely return to this course next time on on the island.

Greens had just been aerated the day before playing. The web site shows it be done next week. I’m all for aerating the greens, but I feel all courses should be more upfront with this process.

Course had just been punched, but still played okay …… good layout, you will play all your clubs during your round

We play Kona Country Club every time we come to the Big Island which has been for the past 15+ years. This particular day we arrived and found the driving range, practice putting green, and chipping area were all closed. We knew ahead of time that the course was going to be closed the next couple days for course maintenance, but were surprised today when we could not warm up. Other than that, always a great place to play along the Kona coast.
