The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Relaxing Round of Golf

Teed off around 12:30pm for a relaxing round of golf. Total time was 4 1/2 hours but it seemed we were briefly waiting on many holes. The course conditions were excellent from tee boxes to fairways to the greens. And of course the views of the mountains and ocean were wonderful.

Great course in a great location.

Fun course with numerous interesting holes. Course was in great condition. Lots of goats living on the course but they didn’t affect our play at all. Would definitely recommend this course.

Kona Country Club

The Kona Country Club is a fairly forgiving layout with wide open fairways, scenic lava

lined holes with dramatic views of the ocean. The greens are slow but roll true and their undulations can be challenging.The pace of play in the afternoon was good enough to allow for a cheap late start with ample time to finish. So take advantage of the cheaper afternoon rates. The views from the clubhouse are awesome. Id play again.

Fun day in paradise!

My wife and I had a fun day away from the beach Kona CC was in good condition and 3-4 holes that run along the ocean are beautiful. We were originally paired with two others but they did not show-up on time so my wife and I played as a twosome. It a relief for her to not be paired with strangers. The staff was very nice, the rental clubs were in good shape and the 19th hole made an awesome cheeseburger and Mahi tacos.
