The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Fabulous course..,.needs a better restaurant

This course is beautiful, and in perfect condition. We had an amazing round, and loved every hole. Pro shop staff, Marshall and bar staff were all super friendly. The restaurant however, is a HUGE disappointment. It has no class, cheap tables and chairs, no atmosphere, closes early, which was not what we expected of such a beautiful course.

The course was in great condition

Have played here on numerous occasions. Staff was friendly and pace of play was good, about 4 hrs 20 min. Never get tired of the views especially on holes 3, 12, and 13 which run parallel with the ocean. Also nice having the beverage cart.

Great course - challenging greens

This was the second time we golfed this course. It is one of the best values on the island. Tee to green was straight forward, but the greens were very tricky. Reading the greens was difficult and some were so fast that the uphill puts, when they missed the hole, would return to the original starting position. They had too much slope and green speed for Joe Sixpack.

Beautiful Course

Beautiful course with several holes directly on the ocean. Greens, fairways, and traps in great condition. Pace of play was good one day and then a little slow the next. Starter seemed a bit weird about times telling people to go whenever so some players started out of order. Overall a great course with amazing views. Also saw goats and wild turkeys.

This is a beautiful William Bell golf course. To bad they did not have staff as good as the course. Sunset was 630 cart people said carts in by 530. Cart people were pushy and rude and seemed to think they ran the course. Remember you are cart staff. Restaurant with amazing views closes at 5. Everything was blamed on no staffing.

Definitely going to get in touch with the GM by email.

Beauty course just dont book after 110 you will not finiah and all though the sun will be burning bright for another our the cart staff will be coming out on the course to get you.

Weird closing policy

Be careful booking this course.

The course closes at 5:30 and you must leave the course.

I was lucky to finish exactly at 530.

Why is the course closing so eay?

More importantly, why is the course and golfnow selling teetimes that do not support playing 18 holes.

The restaurant was also closed at 5:30. 4 groups of people were turned away. I was thirsty and shocked.

Bad policies and bad business.
