Kona Country Club
About
The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Great course
I think you have to play the course at least once to score well. The blind holes tend to cloud your club selection . 3 wood would be preferable on a few holes. Great course.
Beautiful course. Ocean views in great condition
I love this course. A little pricy and pace of play can be slow, but a beautiful course with great ocean views.
If staying in Kona a must to play at least once
Kona CC Golf
Course is in great shape. Greens were very tricky. Worth the visit.
Here 5 months a year but not kamalina
Have to get Hawaii discount golf , for more affordable golf, would like Kona country golf club, to participate more with, so that I could play more there , thanks
Great, fun experience
Booked through TeeOff at a great price. Rented clubs - brand new Taylormade Stealth set just unwrapped that day. Paid a little extra for the trial of the new clubs. Top level course but have to pay for range balls! Friendly staff from checkin, cart guys, club rental prep and starter - excellent attitude. Course layout very interesting with lots of elevation changes, beautiful views of the ocean and unique hole architecture that incorporated the vast lava fields. Greens fast and great condition. Cart GPS system worked well. A truly fun day on an interesting course. Pace of play was resort type with somewhat slow group in front of us.
Cart staff was not friendly
Cart staff wasn’t welcoming and even got rude to us when apparently we had our cart back five minutes late. Also making us have the carts in when it was still light out doesn’t seem right
Beautiful course in Kona
The course was in great shape and it is just a beautiful setting. I got a hot deal on GolfNow it was well worth the money for playing in Hawaii as a visitor.
Beautiful Course
Play Early as it is hard to finish 18 if you tee off around 1 pm.
It becomes slow in the afternoon. Especially when you play behind guys who are hitting from the back tees when in reality they should be playing the forward tees! Hunting for balls and only hitting your drive 50 yds off of the back tees is not fun to play behind!! And I’m a 64 year old female who drives the ball around 200 consistently! Cmon Guys! Other than the slow play the course is really fun!!
Don’t rent their clubs!
Course was very nice with a couple of ocean side holes. Unfortunately, carts had to be returned by 5:30 so that and a 15 min delay teeing off meant we didn’t finish our round and only got in 16 holes. It was still light out and we could have easily finished. Also, rental clubs were horrible for the $55 price. The 5 iron in my bag was at least 20 years old. Most were pretty beat up and in the 10 yr old range. Bring your own clubs if you can!
We couldn’t get in their restaurant for a drink after our round. Only one girl working and people with reservations were being turned away.
Kona Country Club
Course in great shape. Greens are really challenging. With lots of undulations. Play a little slow. Would only let us have one bottle of water. Told at turn around we could refill empty bottle at water cooler.
Kona Country Club
Beautiful course, great layout, very challenging , good views, excellent condition!
Fast sloped greens
The course is beautiful and well laid out.
Pace of play was slow 4.5 hour round but we were afternoon following mens league on Thursday. It seemed busier than normal.
Greens were faster than practice green and they are all sloped so best to stay below the hole if you can.
I would definitely play again if I could!
Amazing Course
Stunning Views of the Pacific and the Volcanic Rock surrounding.
Definitely worth the price we paid. We had our daughter and son in law (who had a broken ankle )ride along just for the beauty of the course. He was unable to play due to the injury and told us it was worth the $37 fee per person. We consider this course just as beautiful as Pebble Beach but at a lower price. Aloha!!
