About
Formerly a cornfield, Robert Trent Jones Jr. utilized the natural area and the import of over 600,000 cubic yards of dirt to create the challenging Ute Creek Golf Course. The championship course has a traditional links-style layout that is said to challenge even the most avid of golfers. The public, 18-hole golf course offers 7,167 yards from its longest tees, playing to a par of 72. It features several water hazards, especially on the back nine holes, with five lakes situated on the course and two streams that wind through it. Ute Creek Golf Course's well-bunkered greens and undulating, multi-level fairways provide more interesting elements to the game.

Nice course
The last time I plaid this course it didn't have any houses on it. It has just opened up. The course has matured a lot, houses are all around it. Weather was excellent, started pouring right after we finished.
Greens and fairways are in great shape, some ball marks on the greens and it seems people aren't repairing them.
Greens rolled well, probably 10-11, first couple of greens were faster then the rest were a little slower.
Enjoyed the course, played with a couple of singles that were very enjoyable to play with.

Fun fair course. Not too punishing for slightly wayward shots. Good length.

Conditions not great
Colorado has been hot, greens had been aerated, mowed and rolled. Net result was unreasonable green speeds, despite green fairways and lush rough. I've enjoyed this course in the past, but not today.

Ute Creek
Nice course, but they have recently punched the greens so it was still not ideal. They also started us on 10 which also made it tougher than it should be.

Terrible Sand In Their Traps
This is overall a very nice and challenging golf course. I usually play it several times over the course of the season. Every time I do, I remember what I dislike like about it. It has the worst excuse for sand that I have ever played out of. It actually is more like road base. They have precious little of it in the bottoms of the bunkers. If you try to play a normal sand shot your club just bounces off the hard pan just under the surface. I have been told they use this because of the wind in the winter time blowing the sand away.
So let me get this straight, this is a summer game, but you are more concerned about what is happening in your traps in the winter when few are playing, than giving all your customers in the summer a fair and satisfying experience.....Things that make you go Hmmmmm????? Seems like their ought to be room in the budget somewhere for real sand. If so, I would certainly play this course more.

Worth the drive
The overall value of this course makes the hour and fifteen-minute drive well worth it. It was in excellent condition and we finished in four hours.

Tee times
Pace of play was slow. Might help to dove tee times a few minutes and bump prices a little to offset. 3 hour 9 hole and had to quit after nine.

This golf course is well de open, well bunkered and large greens and water on several holes. Staff is as outstanding!! Will come back.

Great course!
This course is in beautiful condition. Pace of play was a non-issue and we were a two-some!
Not ce open layout, so very player friendly for this novice golfer. But my partner is a low hcp & really enjoyed the course as well.
Definitely will be back!!!
