About
The Gold Course from Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is the only 18-hole course at the facility. Designed by Frank Hummel, the course opened in 1959 and used to include the 9 holes of the Blue Course as the front nine. Currently however, both the Gold and the Blue are separate courses. The landscape of the Gold is hilly and seven ponds create a beautiful atmosphere while also adding challenging water hazards to eleven holes. Although the entire course is scenic, the 12th hole is considered to have the most picturesque views. Its elevated tee offers gorgeous vistas of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills is known not only for its gorgeous scenery, it has also received acclaim from golf publications such as Golf Digest.

Desperately need a Marshall
It took us almost 6 hours to play 18 due to a drunken bachelor party of two separate groups of 7 in front of us. With no Marshall on the course on a Friday this made for an extremely slow and frustrating round.
Review
We had two tee times at 7 and 7:10. They had a shotgun tournament at 7:30 that started at holes 7-18 and number 1. When we got to number 9 we were the 3rd group to tee off. If we would have known they had a tournament we could have played elsewhere. It was a pretty fast round until hole 10.
Great experience-for the most part
It has been 20 years since I last played Hyland Hills. The course was in very good condition. My only negative was the poor attitude of one of the "marshalls" on the course. We had just finished the front nine and stopped at the snack bar. We spent around $100. A marshall "greeted" us on the 10th tee, telling us to skip a hole because the group in front of us was a hole ahead. THEY had 3 players. WE had 4. No one was waiting behind us on ANY tee on the front nine. I guess we shouldn't have stopped to SPEND $100 at the snack bar. We all teed off with drives over 250 yards from the 10th tee. COURTESY goes much further than anger and threats. Your "marshall" should be trained with that in mind.
Pace
Course is in good shape. The pace of play on this course is always a problem. Took five hours and 10 minutes to play yesterday
Fair track
Nice course in great shape pace if play is slow no rangers to speed things up at all. Kinda tight quarters on a few holes
Great day of golf
8:30 tee time, played in under 5 hours. For this difficult, long course that is normal. Perfect weather, and the course was in great shape!
Hyland Hills Review
Pace of play was poor. Had to wait on every shot that we hit. Round took 5:15 to play 18
Nice layout, 5-hour round
Layout is nice, except for a whole number 18 which is disappointing. Conditions are just so so. Pace of play five hours was brutal. We need Rangers on the course to move along newbies.
6AM
First off the tee on a perfect Colorado morning. The course is welcoming and challenging. The gold course, par 5 first hole is only the beginning.
The mountains are a beautiful part of the course layout.and the grounds crew care about their course with their attention to detail.
I love the course and the people. I plan to play this course on every trip I make to Colorado.
It was a 95+degree day
Coarse overall in good condition. Friendly folks.
But it was hot hot hot.
