About
Situated at the heart of Fairfield County, Richter Park Golf Course is situated along the West Lake Reservoir. The course has been ranked among not only the top ten golf courses in Connecticut but also as one of the top 25 public courses in the country. The course sprawls across more than 180 acres of gently rolling hills. Water has a prominent presence throughout, with the Reservoir bordering seven holes on the front nine and water hazards coming into play on a total of 14 holes. In addition to the water, there are a variety of elevation changes ranging from subtle to dramatic, which can make it a tough golf course to play your first time. Be prepared for a few blind shots. Richter Park's signature hole, the par-5 12th, is bordered by Boggs Pond. Your third shot will be over water to a bunkered green.

Beautiful course
I’ve played well over a hundred rounds this year across roughly two dozen courses. Today my first time playing Richter Park, and it was definitely a tale of two halves.
The front nine I was paired with three solos. They made it clear from the jump it was a speed round. The wind had other ideas. I didn’t finish a single hole…
The back nine I joined up with 3 long-time friends whose sons’ grew up playing baseball together. Chris, Paul, and Brian were a genuine pleasure to play with. I broke 40 for the first time in months.
The course is in immaculate shape with a beautiful landscape. If you’re looking to experience the best fall golf New England has to offer, this is it.
I got a heavy discount with a hot time deal, promo code, and points, but would gladly pay full price. That’s coming from someone who works as a cart attendant and plays at least 3 complimentary rounds per week. Will definitely be making the 64 minute drive back before the end of season.
The whole course
The whole course is overall good shape…greens are medium speed but fair ..fairways are in great shape

Good track always have a great time playing Richter Park .Green will be running fast very shortly
Need to speed up pace of play.
Staff are friendly, professional and kind. It is nice to have a driving range to warm up before heading out to play. They also have an area to practice your sand and chipping. The greens are in great shape, although like every course I have played, patrons need to stop being lazy and fix their ball marks. This course deserves the rating of the number one course in Ct. The only issue is speeding up the pace of play. I was teamed up with a group of three. The starter held us to our original start time to give us a space for the groups in front of us, that worked for four holes and then we began waiting on shots by the sixth hole we waited the rest of the way. The rangers need to enforce their policies and let faster groups play through.

Great round at Richter Park
Really great round as usual at Richter Park. Pace was slow but that is normal for mid afternoon round here. A few bunkers could use more sand, my LW got roughed up on 13 😖, playing partner also expressed dissatisfaction with several bunkers. Pin locations were challenging due to the Amateur earlier in the day but I enjoyed them presenting new pins that I hadn’t seen before on a weekend round. Course and greens in great shape, greens were rolling which also new for my round.

I drove an hour to play this course and it was well worth getting up at 4 a.m. to do it. The course was in very good condition. I enjoyed the layout. It cut into Mother Nature that you should look at and enjoy after chunking a shot, it'll make your round nicer. I had some trouble with breaks or non breaks but greens are mint condition. All in all I totally enjoyed my round. FYI - I would rate the golf cart a 10 out of 10 and the best public carts I have used. Enjoy, have fun, we arent; good enough to get angry at our shots.
