played again this week and again very pleased with conditions and pace of play. Greens are challenging but well woth the trip to try it, as a municipal course, I highly recommend it. price is also very reasonable. I got a hot deal plus discount but regular price still competitive.
Spring Start
Nice day, despite previous rainy day course was in good shape for season start! Always perfect when pace of play is good and no waiting to tee off.
Challenging holes but not intimidating, great signature hole!
the day after torrential rain
We always enjoy golf at Whitney Farms. We have been playing there for 30 years or so , and there are always new improvements. Course is always challenging and a in good shape.
Early bird
Nice course but not in any shape yet. Too early in season. Normally very nice course. Needs a lot of work!
Good considering weather
The wind was bad early on but because of course setup it was not affecting play too much. I'm not that good so being on the course pretty much alone was great. Took my time and learned some things along the way. Staff was friendly and courteous
Will try again when weather is better
Challenging course
Relatively narrow with dedicated fairways. 5 par 3 and 5s
Not worth the money
Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Greens are awful. Extremely hard , like concreate. Sand traps are a joke. They should call them dirt traps because thats whats in there. For 70+ dollars there are better options near by.
Cold windy day
Temp 32 degrees at tee time. Need to go back in good weather to get a true reading
Fall Golf in CT
Beautiful fall day to get in another round of golf. Pace of play a little slow due to trying to catch up after frost delay. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.
Nice course..rock hard greens
The course was in good shape for fall not to many leaves around. If not for playing with someone with course knowledge we would have been lost..No idea where greens were. Greens in great shape but rock hard..balls would not hold even with wedges ..could not get divot tool into the green not that you really needed one...may give it another shot in the summer.
Challenging golf course with a great layout and excellent greens
Whitney Farms is an above average golf course worth playing. The layout of the golf course has minimal overlay of other holes. There is A variety of holes with a decent amount of elevation change. Greens are nice and quick with some slope. Very friendly staff at pro shop and in the dinning room. Golf carts were newer Yamaha gas models that were quieter than average.
Greens were fast!
Great course! Beautiful views and nice layout. Tips were a good challenge and greens were fast. Worth the price and I'll definitely be back.
Fall Golf at Whitney Farms
Glorious fall day; very backed up because of a woman's tourney in the morning: Waited on every hole until the 14th; Course was in good shape, but greens were difficult to hold: Front more difficult then the back: Used a hot deal that justified the day; Would play here again, but only at a discounted price: Grille was also closed by the time we wandered in:
Decent course, sketchy condition
The fairways are ok rough, fringe and bunkers were poor and while the greens putted well they were rock hard and won't hold even well hit short irons.
I won't be back, I expected more for the price.

If you have a chance you should play this course. Each hole is unique, you have to make your shots, and the greens are in great shape.
Need to bring extra balls
Course is in great shape. Plays long and many holes give you ample opportunity to lose balls making course management important

only knock is it needs some fairway bunkers to give you better lines on tee shots
