Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
About
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

Great course fun to play in Woodbridge Connecticut
Oak Lane in Woodbridge Connecticut is a great course to play great value fantastic staff course conditions are a little tough now because of the lack of rain like all the courses in the area the pace of play can be slow but that has more to do with the golfers and it does the actual staff highly recommend this course
Great course
I have been playing this course since it went public several years back. It’s close to home, and reasonably priced. This year they updated to GPS in all the carts which is amazing. It’s not a long course, but has some challenging holes. Starter got us out early to avoid a two some that had a history of poor pace of play. We were a two behind a threesome, rarely waiting and finished sub four hours. I really recommend this course.
well manicured
Front 9 is challenging, gives you all you can handle.
Back 9 very nice wsy to finish the round.
Greens are beautiful and rolling true.
Great course!
nice little gem
Liked the track a lot not long but challenging course was in good shape greens were fantastic recommend coming out to take a sniff you’ll enjoy it
Great course
The Oak Lane course is in great shape, and is a lot of fun to play.
Bad sand
More difficult than most so short hitters use forward tees. My gripe is with fairway & green side concrete sand .If you like greens surrounded by these great but once in the thin surface sand has dense compacted substrate. Perhaps management is working on this.
Awesome day on the course
The weather was great as was the course condition. The rough was also cut down enough where your did not have to take a chance on twisting your wrist to get it out. This course will test all skill levels and keep you coming back. All new carts with gps was a great surprise!
So close to being perfect
Played at 6:30AM for $10 the other day. I have never seen a deal quite like that for this course on GolfNow but it was well worth it.
The fairways were nice and soft and the greens were quick and rolled pretty true (besides a few ball marks that people decided not to fix).
The one negative was the bunkers, very grainy and lots of rocks in them. If they fixed them up it would be really nice.
I really like the practice area at this course too, grass driving range and a large putting green (they just need to move some of the pins cause they are in really weird positions.
Seen better days
Traps in rough shape pace of play was terrible most of the golfers there high handicap
No ranger
A couple corny holes
Great Pace of play
Played in the middle of a great special deal $37!!. Course had the pro out monitoring play and my foursome played behind a slow group and finished in 4 hours and 10 mins. Lobe the greens and the new carts and GPS. Pro shop has great merchandise too!
Slow, slow play Oak Lane
The tee times are to close together , the course had very slow play . Had to wait on almost every shot.
A good course for the value, but...
I play this course frequently and enjoy most aspects of it. There is plenty of variety here, uphill & downhill, left & right, short & long. The greens here are generally very quick, so stay below the hole when you can or risk a three putt or worse. This season they purchased new golf carts with GPS systems, so that helps a lot with yardages and club choice.
The one area that needs serious attention here is the bunkers. They are generally in poor condition with hard, packed down sand and a multitude of rocks. Getting the ball out and close is virtually impossible.
Fix the bunkers and this course goes from "good" to "very good."
Top notch
Greens rolled true and fairly quick for a public. The staff is truly top and go out of their way to accommodate you. Last but not least this course has the best practice psetup in the area w Grass Range, chipping area w bunker and huge practice green.
