Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
About
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

Good Course
Nice course and layout. Plays like it did back when it was private.
Course is difficult but good
I used to belong to Oak Lane and always liked the course even though it is difficult. A while after it became public it wasn't in good shape. This time, however, it was. Like with many courses, the course is more wide open - trees and brush removed - and has a more expansive look.
Five hour round...
Nothing negative about this course except pace of play. Didn't see a ranger all day.
Best course I've played all year
Greens are just awesome. The staff treats you like family. I would play here every day if I could. Great place!
Great last minute value
Got a chance to get out of work a bit early and found a great deal for 9 holes and a cart via GolfNow app. Traffic caused me to be late for my tee, but they accommodated me with no trouble. Last day of August was unseasonably cool, and the course was in very good shape, with only a few fringes being the exception. Finished 9 holes with two other players in just over 2 hrs. Thoroughly enjoyed my round.
Hard greens, harder golf staff
Getting yelled at for stopping for lunch at the turn was a first. There was no one behind us. No ranger moving people along. It bunched up on both sets of 9. Nice course. Not easy. Really tough greens, fast and on an angle, every one.
Early tee time
It had just finished raining from the night before. The grass had been dragged and the greens were it top shape. Since we were the first one's out all the traps were raked and the tee boxes sweeped from the night before. The grounds crew were visible throught out the round. It as a very enjoyable day of golf.
Top notch
Great staff. Good tees and greens and overall fine vourse conditions make this a great choice
Couple of tough holes
Only played 9 holes. #1 & #9 are tough holes for the average Joe. Course is in great shape and I would play anytime. Staff is attentive and courteous
Course is in nice shape!
I played this course years ago when it was private - now that it's public, it's still in great condition. Nice layout, a few challenging, hilly holes...Would play there again for sure.
Great Course in Excellent Condition
Played Oaklane on 7/28 and could not have been more happy with my experience.
The staff was very friendly and I teed off right on time with no delays. We played in 4 hours on a quite busy day. The greens were fast and smooth and better than any other public course in the area.
I played here 5 years ago and was not very impressed but now it is one of the only places I will play. Great job by the staff in turning this course into one of the greatest public courses in the state. I would highly recommend this course to any and all.
This was not a fair representation of our facility. Player booked a special 9 hole time and wanted to play 18 holes which was not available.Reservation was clearly labeled 9 holes.
Visiting from NJ
I really liked the course. I can see why it was Private in past years. Holes are varying and challenging. greens are great. very fast compared to jersey. Some of the pin placements were just ridiculous, however. And finally, you need marshal. Slow play on the back nine, became a crawl.
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Thank you for letting us know the staff is doing their job. This was a busy day and there were groups behind you. Stopping for lunch between nines really messes up for the day for the groups behind you.
