Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane
About
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

Brrrrrrrr. Lol
I was surprised how dry the course was. I was expecting a lot of mud. Lol there was some on the back 9 but for the most part the course was in pretty good shape for this time of year.
Great for february
Started with slight frost delay with 809 tee time. Cart path only.Course was in good shape, some down branches but a real pleasure to play. Clubhouse comfortable spot with limited food options at this time.
Course is well maintained
Course in great shape. Course is a challenge but not too difficult.
Very fast greens
The course was in fantastic shape. The greens roll true and were very fast even under damp conditions. If it had been dry they would have been too fast except for perhaps top amateur golfers. Played in under 4 hours. Very few leaves in play which is wonderful for fall golf.
Weather bad, course in great shape
Played on a wet Sunday. Pace was moving, just under 4 hours. Course plays nice. Worth the rain, although never fun.
Keeps getting better
This course has been continually improving since it was taken over by a new company. The greens, fairways and bunkers were in fine shape. The only downside is they really restrict walking.
November 3rd, 70 degrees, course conditions good!
This course played extremely tough as hole placements were extremely challenging and greens were fast. Made for some tough putting! You can’t beat the Hot Deal value!!
Fall in CT
It was a gorgeous Nov 2nd day in CT a balmy 70 degrees with very little wind at 3:15 in the afternoon. The course looked and played like it was mid season. Normally at this time in CT leaves become a real issue but the course was clear and the greens were running fast considering we had 5 inches of rain 3 days earlier. The traps were still a little wet buy playable. Hats off to the course superintendent and his crew. You have some wiggle room but you drives need to be fairly accurate as the rough is rough.
Tradition@Oak Lane
Really nice course, was difficult. Luckily I was paired with someone who had played course before and was informed of locations to aim for and/or not aim for, this was very helpful -- I would definitely go back
Good Cource to play
This is a well maintained course, it is fun to play, you have some holes that you need to place the ball and others that you can cut loose, it is well worth playing
Nice Course / Good value
Having played here multiple times, I recommend Tradition Golf at Oak Lane. Staff is great and they are constantly improving the course. The owner is friendly, hard working and so are the pros. It is difficult and costly to upgrade a golf course, but they have been improving the course all season. Oak Lane is one of my favorite places to play and it is a great value..
Well maintained
Ground crew does an excellent job of maintaining the course. Layout favors ball placement over brute strength. Think your way around and you can score. 18 requires two well struck balls to reach the green.
Awesome day on the course
We managed to get a perfect weather day in October. The high 70's and the picturesque golf course made it a day to remember. We took our time and were not pushed at all. Made some great shots along with the "others". All good!
Slow play ruins a day
Was a great round for nine holes. On the back nine which was the front nine we got stuck behind a foursome that was ridiculously slow. Pretty sure they were nine hole players that cut in on us. Only played 16 holes because darkness set in. Hour and a half to play the first nine we stopped after 215 and played only seven holes. Too bad we were really enjoying the day.
Well worth the trip!
It was an hour drive for me but well worth it! Course featured level changes on just about every hole, and fast multi-tiered greens. No GPS on cart. Pace was slow and finished in 5 hours. I will be back!!
Oaklane
. deal big the what'sI wasn't aware that the course could arbitrarily change my starting time to a later time. I did not appreciate the fact that they gave me a later time when I showed them my confirmation. They said it was only 9 m.inutes
Excellent day @ Oak Lane
Very enjoyable round of golf. Teed off promptly @ 7:33 and finished about 11:15. Greens rolled nicely, very quick however, and tees and fairways were in good condition. Cart with refreshments found us b4 10:30.
