Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane

I just started to play more often late this summer. I'm very much a beginner and still learning the game. The weather was to my advantage because I didn't have to rush anywhere. the driving range is nice and the staff was very helpful in getting me pointed in the right direction. When I let them know I had never been here before he made sure I could find my way to the start and onward.

Course was in good condition, greens rolled nice, laves blown off, friendly staff, even had a refreshment cart. Good day for this time of year in CT

My son and I played yesterday. We played 18 holes in just about 3 hours. The course was in great shape. The wind played havoc with our shots.

It dropped below 40 degrees, however we enjoyed the day.

We'll be back.

I have been playing The Tradition at Oak Lane about once a month and this past Wednesday was another treat. I played as a single and was paired with three nice guys. Course was very busy, I was told 200 people played that day. We played at a great pace and we saw a ranger all day. Ate at the bar afterwards and had a great meal too! The greens were awesome!

Found this course online and was pleasantly surprised course was in great shape greens rolled perfectly some blind shots and nice tree lined fairways shot makers track crew was very nice as well

I like this course because it has a blend of target golf on some holes and don't leave that driver in the bag holes.

Need better cart with distance screen like tashua

I was a single. The starter was awesome to put me out 25 mins early. The bad thing, he put me out, by myself, behind 3, 4 some & in front of 4 somes. I waited @ every hole. Had to get loud with idiot behind for not waiting & hitting a ball right over my head. Other than that, nice course. Just will never play on the weekend by myself again.

I would play here every chance I get. Awesome golf course and very nice staff

The course is a little tired. Front 9 the fairways and greens good. The back 9 a little rough. My cart should have been retired years ago. A 4:45 hour round is not acceptable. I had high expectations after reading the reviews. Definitely the weakest venue I played on this trip.

This was my first time playing here. I thought the course layout offered many challenges without being overly difficult. The course was in great shape. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Just one complaint. Most of the water jugs were empty and it was a very hot and humid day. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this course, as I will be playing here again.

Great course. Nice layout and in great condition. The greens are very challenging. Fast and unpredictable. Stay below the hole, but if the pin positions are forward, good luck.

Nice course, fun layout. Nice challenge from the tips. Some really good longer par 4s make you work. Lots of tress to avoid. Greens in good shape.

Enjoyed the course and the layout, yardage book would have been helpful to get an overall view of the holes. The green were nice but could have been cut to roll a little faster. What made it better was been joined by another player who was familiar with the course, a plus if playing for the first time. Had a great driving range, plus practice bunker and a very good putting green.If ever in the area plus make a visit.

Played on 8/26 and the course was awesome. Greens were fast and the pace was too. Even stayed for lunch after and had a great meal.

The course was in terrible shape. All the tee boxes where beat up and missing grass (sliced/sand), all the fairways where air rated. The greens looked nice from a distance but where beat up around the holes. It's a shame but the course has a lot of potential. I can't be totally negative the traps where in good shape.

The course itself was lovely and the pace of play good. However, we had a delay in getting there on time. We called the course and they said we could tee off 20 minutes later. However, when we arrived 2 minutes after our original tee time, they rushed us to the first tee box. With no time to even catch our breath or warm up, the first few holes were especially challenging.

To add insult to injury, someone side swiped our car in the parking lot. Not a fun day.

great course , greens roll true, t boxes flat and cut, workers everywhere but awful considerate of players. traps already raked and cold water at stations. cart girl friendly , we'll be back 4 more.
