About
Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane is situated in the quiet town of Woodbridge, just 20 minutes from New Haven. Formerly known as Oak Lane County Club, the course was both renamed and renovated when it was acquired by the management team at The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford. Many of the holes were updated but the golf course retained its challenging but playable nature. Though the course is player friendly enough to appeal to players of all skill levels, there are still several challenges in store. Numerous strategically placed bunkers lurk along the greens and towering trees also frame most of the holes. The holes are mostly straightforward with a few tricky doglegs to keep you on your toes. You'll also be confronted with the occasional water hole. Both your accuracy and short-game skills will be tested at Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane.

Would return again for Golf Now prices
Not my favorite course played of late, but would have to rate the service as excellent. When there was a little bit of a backup on the front nine, they put the group I was paired with off the back nine and we played in under two hours and then when we flipped over to the front side, the backup was gone and we finished in less than 4 hours - which is great for a Saturday at 10am. I would say from the pro shop, to the guys that handled the bags, to the woman who ran the bar and restaurant, everyone was top-notch service people.
The course had a lot of short holes even though we played from the blue tees and I probably wouldn't take the drive all the way to central CT from Rockland County, NY unless I got a really cheap Golf Now tee time again. Thanks Golf Now for letting me play course all over the tri-state area at great rates!!
Great greens
The course was in good shape. The greens war in awesome shape. They were true and very fast.
A Tradition
A Gem, excellently maintained. Always presents some challenges. Last 2 times started off back nine & pace was a little slow-could be a challenge with waning daylight hrs. !
Very well managed
I played on a very busy Friday, the same day as the ignorant post about playing 16 holes. I have to say I really enjoyed the day. The greens are fabulous, best I have played all year by far. The ranger did a great job moving a group a couple of holes ahead and the Pro was out there all afternoon as well. I played in 4 hours and 30 minutes and could not be happier. If you are realistic and fair about your expectations you will really love it here!
Oak Lane.... Nice
I thought this course was in great shape given the fact that we haven't had much rain in CT for the month of September. Pace of play was also great. I would recommend this course anytime.
Very slow play
2:50 for the first nine holes. Had to play the back twice as we didn't want to follow the group ahead of us
Poor condition
we started from back 9 and the fairway was in horrible condition and the green was not in good condition as well.
They need to take care of this place better, I pick this place base on Internet review, this is not 4 star place.
The only decent thing about this place that food was good overall
If you want to play 16 holes....
What used to be a private course that has gone public so its always in pretty decent shape. Unfortunately its also notoriously slow in pace. For the 3rd time we decided 16 holes was enough at 4:40 mins. If you want to trudge around and wait on every shot then this is the place. The 3rd time was the charm and we will be skipping this place for awhile.
Course was not worth the amount of money charged
The course was in fair condition and I did enjoy playing there, but the amount charged was high due to the conditions of the course. I played on a Sunday (early)and not too many people there so the pace was good but maybe because of the conditions and the price, people have gone elsewhere. I will play there again but not for the price I paid.

The course was absolutely empty!
I played as a single and finished 18 in just over 2 hours!
Great course.
Overall a great course to play with great conditions. Only complaint would be pace of play on a Saturday morning. There was a 4some ahead of our 3some and did not offer us to play through even though they fell at least 2 full holes behind the group ahead of them. A ranger was no where to be found so we just leap frogged the group and skipped one hole. I think the rangers need to keep the pace moving on the course a little better, other than that it's a great course for the price to play.
Oak Lane - Great Deal Great Course
Can't beat the deal and the course is very nice. A good blend of short and long holes./ Greens were excellent and pace of play was very good. Highly Recommendated.

Fair challenge
The course is somewhat difficult but fair - helps if you know the course. Good elevation changes. The staff was very friendly.
Great Course for all abilities.
Fun and fair. Water on some holes which forced a "brains over brawn" approach. Iron off the tee was definitely the choice on these holes, but it left me with a comfortable approach distance. The ball landed soft on the greens , and greens were not intimidating. The grounds crew was cutting the day I played, and I found them to be as courteous to golfers as was possible.
Great price for a great course
The prepaid special at this course is a hit. The staff is great, the course is well kept and the pace was very good.
One of the best
Excellent condition. Greens were as fast and true as any in the area. Finished on time. Everything is positive. In fact they also listen to their customers. I played it late last year and almost drove into the stream running across #18, I told them about it and they now have it staked. I will be back.
