Tradition Golf Club at Oak Lane

I found out that this course was once a private club which lead me to believe that like most private clubs they are made to be walked or ridden via cart. Well let's just say it's a bit hilly. The back nine is definitely more tame then the front but regardless there are a lot of blind shots and uneven fairways. I usually am a 10 handicap but this course was so difficult to play for the first time I shot my worst score of the year here. In sure if I played it more often I would like it more but at 65 bucks I can find a better manicured facility. I think in a couple years this course will be better but I am skeptical as the new owners have started to altered the design of the originally course by removing bunkers to to try and encourage lower scores. Also they now the greens so short it's like playing on a pool table. You must flop shot on to greens or you will run off.

Ou issue was pace of play. They can do a better job of making sure there are no open holes and helping move along the field

Great value and we played 18 in the afternoon in FOUR hours!! The greens were tremendous best I've played all year.

The course was in good shape, especially conconsidering the tough winter. Play was a little slow, but the ranger did his job. The food at their nice restaurant was excellent.

We get out first tee times and just have a great experience. Green in good condition. Fairways and bunkers great. Rough was a bit deep and heavy.
Staff from the grounds crew to the clubhouse just so friendly and respectful.
This is definately a Women Friendly /Senior friendly. Great tee boxes for all levels.

I have played everything in the area so far this season and Oak Lane came out of this winter better than anyone! Greens are fast!!! Staff was super nice and I even stayed and had a great hot dog after the round. If you decide to "go down the road" you are making a huge mistake!

Upon arriving here i was not greeted by anyone. When i entered the pro shop i was rudely interrupted and shuffled between which employee i was dealing with as some guy took a personal phone call on his cellphone behind the counter. the course is a narrow design and the pace of play was very slow. i would recommend any other course thats in a 5 mile radius of this one and don't plan on returning any time soon.

In all fairness it is the beginning of the season after a very tough winter. Greens were poor but all grass but bumpy and scruffy and aerated not completely dressed.Ttee boxes hard and not really touched which would also describe the greens .Bunkers coarse sand. Would be willing to try again deeper into the season to see if anything hopefully changes.

but no mention of pesticide treatment which must have been applied via spray. Thank God we were only playing 9 holes. Wore my golf towel as bandana to avoid smell.

course was in great shape for an April round. The greens were aerated which made putting tough, but that's understandable. I will be back!

Greens were recent airrated but the pace of play was great.

Course was just aerated but greens were still quick. Course was in great shape and for a 10:40 tee time we were in and out in 4 hours. Ate in the restaurant after and the food was spectacular.

Will return.

Good course, in good shape, slow play early on. Couldn't order food during the entire round. Made no sense.

I work in New Haven and actually I was going to Portland Connecticut to play but my partner backed out so I found something that was closer to me, I joined up with three other people we had a great time I think it was the last nice day will see this year! I'm always excited to play a new course so I was pleasantly surprised with this one! I would recommend it!

The staff does a great job every time where there!!! They keep the coarse in great shape all year round. Never any leafs on the coarse. Just a great job! Thank you Oaklane!!

Oak Lane is a fun, challenging, very eye-pleasing course. Staff is great - providing excellent customer service. The bunkers could use some attention, but the greens rolled fast & true.

A few holes that have slippery greens and some blind shots. The course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was great. We ate lunch after playing and found the food, service, and price fantastic.

Very nice course. Very well maintained. Tough greens.
