Greens are grear
The greens are looking great. Roiugh is challenging but it needs to be on such an open course. Would play again for sure
Disappointed
Have played course before and never seen rough so high, a lot of weeds/crab grass. Expected better conditions for the money. Was cart path only from rain two days before, did not see many wet conditions on course. Talked to another golfer who said they called the day before to make sure it wasn’t cart path only. Won’t go back for a while.
Back Creek
Have not played the course for more than a year. It was extremely improved over that time. Course conditions were much better. Tees, fairways, and greens were very nice. Much improved!
Back Creek a Regular Winner!
Back Creek is a very nice links style course with occasional water , marshes and high grass for its secondary rough.
Love the course and staff , played in a men’s league for years and now occasionally. It is a hidden secret in Middletown DE. Recently purchased by Ron G., the ex great Eagle, he has continued the friendly culture and fair prices . He has also improved the greens and returned the course to its original design . Matt the new manager is the best , knows what golfers need , from players who like to practice to ensuring you get your round in on busy days , makes a real difference juggling things to make it all happen . I believe he is a real good golfer so he gets it. His team is nice staff and helpful. Kevin the friendly bartender, always helpful and seems to personally connect with each of his customers. Just a terrific place to play and have a beer in the 7 tavern after your round , Maybe sit in one of the Adirondack chairs overlooking the 18th hole.

Good Challenge / Value
decent and open layout.
course, greens and traps were in good conditions.
good value as long as you are not paying top dollar
First time at Back Creek
I played Back Creek for the first time in a threesome on a weekday morning in late Spring. The course is links-style, with few trees, and pretty wide open, except for a few holes. It was an enjoyable round. The course was in good shape, as it should be as the Spring weather has been ideal for course conditioning. Pace of play was excellent at 3:40. The course is not easy, but the layout was pretty fair, particularly in giving you the ability to spray your tee shots, but still find them. Some of the greens were quite challenging, but not unfair. The course is now owned by Ron Jaworski’s group, and there were signs promising updates to the clubhouse and restaurant, but everything was in decent shape. I’d play it again.
Pace so bad we couldn't finish
Quit 4 holes shy after 5 hrs. Was at the tee box for 20 minutes as 5 groups gathered in wait. Turns out the starter allowed a 6 some to play on Memorial day. No cart service...no ranger...and when complaints were made to the staff, they merely laughed and said they knew.
Looking Good
Early Saturday morning round, pace wasn’t bad, about 4 hours 15 minutes. Course is in great condition, they’re trying to grow up the rough, chipping around the greens is now more difficult. Bunkers need some love comparatively to the rest of the course, but are very playable.
