Garrisons Lake Golf Club
About
Garrisons Lake Golf Club, nine miles north of Dover, is a historic play centrally located to all parts of Delaware. The course is nature friendly: with tree-lined fairways and large, well bunkered greens throughout. The par-72, 7,060-yard course was recently renovated and improved, and players of all abilities will be confronted with a fair challenge. Not that there aren’t hurdles. Garrisons Lake is book-ended by two long plays: The 535-yard, par-5 first features out of bounds along the left side, and the 536-yard 17th features a challenging tee shot with trees on the right side. Garrisons Lake Golf Club also has a bustling practice range, putting green, golf shop and snack bar.

Good value
Course is in good shape with wide fairways. The pin placements were brutal with almost everyone on the front nine directly behind a bunker. There is no ranger so pace can be slow. Good value for the money.
Run Down
Cart barely worked, cart paths were eroded, rough on tree lined course was too high - lost 2 balls when hit off line in trees because you couldn’t see the ball unless you stepped on it. Pace of play was terrible and no ranger to move groups that took more than 20 minutes a hole. No water on course when 88 degrees outside. Greens were incredibly slow.
Garrison Lake
Today was the first time I had played Garrison Lake in more than 28 years. I had heard many horror stories about the course and what it had become. glad i believe nothing and half of what i see...lol I had planned on playing here earlier in the year but talking to the proshop they had told me they were working on the back and that it was playing as an executive course until August 1st.. The back is open now and kudos to them and their staff for the awesome work they did. The greens and fairways are in the best shape i had ever seen them in. the rough was a little tall, but fairly easy to get out of. They are building the new proshop and clubhouse right now, today they were setting the roof truss. if you haven't played this course in a while you should definitely give them another chance, you wont be disappointed. Say hello to Steve the head pro after your round and let them know what you think of the course. Its good for them to hear about how nice the course is instead of hearing about how bad it is, it makes a difference people! Again thanks for a good day on the course and i look forward to the clubhouse opening soon.
Golf course
Course was in decent shape and played well for my abilities.
Don't go
What a horrible waste of time. We paid ahead on golf now without being informed that several of the holes are under construction and they have made temporary par 3 holes with some being between 70 and 100 yards with make shift t areas in the rough. Pace of play was slow due to people trying to figure out where to go. We had a foursome ahead of us that were drinking liquor out of a half gallon handle.by the end they were running their carts into one another.they drove across 2 separate greens and struck a tree. At one point one had his cart in reverse and the other in forward having a tug of war of sorts.the carts were making an awful grinding sound .would have been nice foe a Marshall to have been present. Overall it was a waste of money for the 2 of us.
Waste of money
We were never informed that the course was under major renovation when we booked. Half of the course over nine holes were being modified, which forced us to play part three is most of the way around. Extremely disappointed that we were never informed and will not go back.
We apologize for the inconvenience you may have had. If you did book your time on GolfNow, they did what they could to make sure you knew of the work being done. You had to click on a box verifying you knew of the work being done. That being said. We would love to have you back out as the course is in such great shape. If you could email me at sfarrell@garrisonslakegolf.com i would like to extend a round of golf for you.
Golf course in great shape other then the par 3holes.
Course Under Repair
If I would have known up front that 4 holes on the back nine were modified and turned into par 3’s, I would have played somewhere else.
With booking on GolfNow you had to click a box acknowledging the work being performed on the course. We had signage in the carts as well as in the Pro Shop. We did reduce the rates because of the work being performed We would love to have you back once the work is finished in August.
Garrison
Course is under construction both clubhouse and back nine. Suggest you play later in the year after course construction is completed. Front nine is in good condition.
Hello Duane,
We apologize that you didn't enjoy your round at Garrisons Lake. When you booked online, GolfNow had a box that you had to check to acknowledge the course renovations prior to paying for your round of golf. We partnered with GolfNow to make sure all the customers were informed as we don't want anyone to play a place without knowing what's going on. We lowered the rate and if you paid for a hot deal, your rate was near $30 as compared to $60
We have opened all of the holes as the fairways have grown in with some cart path restrictions. We hope to see you in the future
