Not what it used to be!
Been playing here for years. Now it sucks. No rangers so play was way backed up. The fairways were dried out. The green were an amalgum of 4 differnt grasses and weeds. And the tee boxes were atrocious. Save your mooney. Go elsewhere.
Sad to see it go!!
Unfortunately, because the course Has been sold, they are not maintaining it as well as they used to. They are doing the basics such as mowing fairways and greens but that’s pretty much it. I got a deal time so it made it $28 a person which I thought was fair given the course conditions. If this course was not sold I believe it would have been in as good of condition as years past.
Tiny tee boxes & rough greens
Well, today was my birthday and I chose to bring a couple of friends to this course as it had a hot deal, but it turned out to be a hot mess. The tee boxes are in need of great repair. Some of them were nonexistent (just sand) and others were blocked off so small because it was the only grass they could find to accommodate the golfers. The fairways we’re in pretty good shape for 90% of the holes. Most of the bunkers were playable and a few were full of rocks and pebbles. I’d say the greens were the worst part of today though, it was like playing on asphalt. If you had a short approach shot or were on a par three, balls didn’t leave a divot, but bounced up into the air and more or less rolled off the green. If this is what the greens are supposed to be like, I probably won’t come back. We thought as the day got hotter that the greens would slow up, but even the slightest tap would roll forever. Pretty disappointed this is where I spent my birthday.
Full disclosure - course is closing and not kept up to par
Course marshall was real nice guy. But the course and golfnow should provide full disclosure that this course is closing down for new housing development and is not being kept up with respect to the tees, greens and bunkers. Fairways were ok. Greens were not mowed and slow.
Find somewhere else
Save your money, don't play here. Usually recommend this course but no longer. Worse greens I have ever witnessed and just plain worn out elsewhere. Really have to wonder where does the money go. It is evident that it is not being pumped into the course or infra structure. Believe me, if they suddenly decided to repair this course and greens, it would take months. I may come back in June just to see.
No help with slow play
The group in front was extremely slow, marshal said he doesn't tell people to speed up. Both carts in our group nearly ran out of battery. Greens in bad shape.
Poor
They’ve charging similar pricing for a far inferior course. They’re selling the land and have clearly given up on the course. I played my last round of golf at this course.
Trophy Club Alpharetta
Overall fun round, greens were better than most, and very challenging if you were above the hole.
Very poor condition
The course is in absolutely poor condition. Just heard theyve been bought and the land is being turned into a housing development and theyre no longer investing in the course at all.
Course has gone Downhill
This course was once a desired course to play, not any more. I would place it on level with Bobby Jones at Piedmont Park. I would rather play Bradshaw Farms, River Pines Woodmont before I’d play here again. Many tee boxes were just dirt with roots sticking out of them. The carts are trashed and long past their lives, I wondered if ours was going to make it the full 18 - I’ve driven bumper cars that were in better condition. Very disappointing to say the least.
Course is ok
It would be better if it was a warmer day. The length is short overall which was fun to play. Except the greens wouldnt hold and putting was not true to form.
Tee Boxes are in horrible condition they were just dirt.
It probably worth playing at $40 but not more.
And Its a narrow course, which made it more challenging.
