Greens are coming along
A few more weeks and the greens will be back to normal from the Aeration as long as they trim and roll them.

Best Public Course in the North Suburbs of Atlanta
I enjoyed my experience overall here. It’s the best overall experience you will get within 30 minutes of the 400 corridor (Roswell/Alpharetta/Sandy Springs). The staff is mostly very friendly and the course is well kept. My biggest gripe with this place is that it is so popular that they overbook, and then are militant about pace of play. If you post 14-16 minutes per hole as pace of play, but book tee times every 8 minutes, don’t have the starter drive up to me to complain about pace of play and backups, especially when I stop at the turn with a 5-minute limit to buy food and beer. Other than that, I’d like to be a regular here

Good experience at River Pines
Interesting Par 70 layout that challenges your eye off the tee and has some trouble that can challenge the scorecard. That said, the round was enjoyable and play was a great pace.

Beware early closing
We were kicked off after 14 holes because they were closing at 8pm despite at least an hour of sunlight left. Would have been nice to be warned of this early closing or better yet they actually slow you to play longer.

Overpriced
This course is not worth $80 per person. Greens are hard as a rock. With as much rain as Atlanta gets, why is this course in crappy condition? Way better courses out there for this price.

Good course conditions, Poor pacing. Not worth the price.
Spacing between groups was terrible. Maybe they loaded up for holiday weekend but was rushed by the rangers and did not appreciate that especially for the price of this course. Probably won’t be back, not on my dime at least.

Unnecessary Work Underway
I have always really liked this course. Always thought it was well maintained, well managed and value oriented. I’m not sure now.
As I understand it, this is a county owned course and all profits are to be put back into the course. Keep in mind the tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in really good shape. So, congrats on that. However, prices keep increasing and they are spending a boatload of money all of which doesn’t seem necessary. In the recent year they made some really nice improvements to the cart path surface. Great. Needed. Appreciated.
They spent a lot on landscaping. Mainly plants and bushes. Way too many. ,Now they’re adding wider pavement to cart paths at tee boxes and greens. I’m sure it will be nice once completed. However, simply not a wise spend of money. Not logical at all. And it’s a mess.
Sand bunkers look very nice. However, if you step into most, they’re hard in a great deal of the bunker surface. Spend the money from wider tee box and greens cart path widening on the bunkers. Or, here’s a novel thought. Since the regular cart paths, tee boxes, fairways and greens all look really well and the course plays well…. Reduce the price to play. Basically, my opinion is they’ve taken a really nice course and gone overboard on spending on pavement and landscaping. which will cost everyone more as time passes. This is not Augusta National. .
I’ll continue to play it unless the price to play increases due to perceived and additional unnecessary spend.
As said above, tee boxes, fairways and greens are all in really good shape. However, someone’s out of control with the checkbook.

Great course with extra firm greens
The course is in great shape except for extra firm greens. The greens are medium fast and roll true. Very nice. Unfortunately, they needed some water to be softened. A lot of good iron shots hitting the greens did not hold and bounced over the back. One in particular landed on the green short of the pin and ended up 25 yds past the pin. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable round of golf.
