Weekly tradition
Towards the end of a long week most of us know the real work begins Friday evening and golf isn’t an option on the weekends. We have kid obligations, wife to make happy, etc.
Over the last 2 months, my buddies and I are getting out Thursday afternoons and enjoying a couple stress free hours on this beautiful course. Staff here are incredible. Funny, engaging, guys you want to come up and talk to during the round. Hard quality to find at a nice course.
It’s something I recommend to all of the busy weekend dads. Get a group, pick a weekday evening 3:00-4:00 pm tee off Monday-Thursday . You’ll quickly see how much fun having this to look forward to can make a big difference in your life.

Too Expensive
I haven’t played River Pines in a few years and in the past when I have played it, I’ve always come away with wanting more. I was eager to see if things had changed for the better! I paid $52+fees and it’s just not good value for money. Upon arrival, they gave me a free complimentary bucket of balls which was a nice touch, but mats only?! I was a single and was told in the proshop I’d be playing with a threesome. Got to the tee box and the ranger said they had teed off 20 mins early. Luckily I wasn’t as busy as expected and was able to catch up to some friendly folks. Layout is OK, couple tee shots (1,6,7,10,11,15) make it hard to gauge the runout in the fairway. Greens were OK, bumpy at times, not really smooth nor very fast. For the price point I expect a little better.
I think $40 is a more fair price during the week for this track. It’s one of only a few public courses in the area so I think they take advantage of that. I’d play again if the fees were more reasonable. For $60, make the drive and play Echelon, a course always in excellent condition.

As always staff and facilites excellent Course is dry and the grass needs to green up and grow. (still winter/spring).

High End Feeling
This course felt like I was on vacation! The staff was knowledgable, welcoming. The cart were well equipped. We were set up well with range balls and attentive service. Upon completing the round...the staff cleaned and carried bags out to car! YES I will return over and over again! Thank for the wonderful experience RiverPines!

Aerated but no warning
I won't play here again for at least 6-8 weeks. Just aerated and Bermuda grass still not growing in. Pace extremely slow, in fact I had to quit after nine bercause of it.

Needs some work
It’s Spring and of course It’s going to take a while before it gets green again so the fairways were very thin. There was also no aeration alert which was disappointing. They probably punched the greens two weeks ago there was a considerable amount of sand in the ball did not roll well.. It would’ve been nice to know that and I would’ve played somewhere else.

Way Overpriced!
If you like cart path only, mud slop conditions, and slow pace of play, this is you’re spot. I understand the demand golf has now with Covid, but charging $75 to play this course is absurd. This place is the Heritage of Johns Creek
