About
Owned and operated by the Byron Forest Preserve District, Prairieview Golf Course sits on a scenic stretch of land that overlooks the Rock River. The layout will test different skills with plenty of variety, offering both open, links-style holes and tight, tree-lined holes. The design takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating the varying elevations into the large and undulating greens. The breaks can make the greens hard to read and they're made even more challenging by more than 60 bunkers strategically places along the borders. There are also water hazards in the form of ponds and a meandering stream that come into play on five holes. In addition to the course, there is also a 15-acre practice facility with a driving range, two putting greens, and chipping and pitching greens with two bunkers.

Beautiful golf course great value
Love playing this course play it multiple times a year , one of the best courses in northern IL and great deals on golf now hot deals too
Great Place To Play
A great course to play.
The value for the course is great.
I traveled an hour to get there but the course didn't disappointed me.
It was worth of travel.
Layout is great and fun to play.
Some holes could be challenging but anyone can enjoy the course.
I will go back and play again soon.
Bent grass fairways
Great staff, great golf course. Greens in particularly great shape. My best putting round in a long time.
Nice course
Nice course for this area. There’s only one other course within 20 miles. The only reason I didn’t give them a five star rating is because the greens were very slow and bumpy. Other than that we had a great experience.
And I’m back this way I would play at his golf course again very nice course

Great Course for Average Golfer
Enjoyed playing Prairie View course. Course was well maintained and greens were very consistent. Nice practice area. The fairways are generally wide and open which was great for me. We played the White tees at about 6150 yards but the course could play significantly longer for better players from the blue/black tees. Played 18 on a Thursday starting around 12:30 in about 3.5 hours Nice GPS carts. . I would play this course again.
Tale of Two Nines....early in the season.
Love this course. Only complaint was that the greens were basically sand. I assume this was due to how early it was in the season. Putting was slow and inconsistent. That being said, this is a great course. It is a bit out of the way, but in a beautiful setting. The layout is quite challenging, especially on the back 9, which has some fairly long and technical holes. The first nine is a back-and-forth, with some holes that are a bit dangerous in terms of being hit by a wayward shot. Don’t let that lull you to sleep because the back 9 is a different story. It feels more remote and offers plenty of opportunity for trouble. I would definitely not recommend this course for less experienced players, unless you plan to play the front 9 only. The par 3 holes were fair and some of the best I have played. Nice clubhouse and decent little food counter. The staff was a bit edged because we came through Golf Now, and we were 20 min early. He mentioned that some app users have abused the tee time in arriving 2 hours early hoping to get out during prime time, which isn’t right to do. Golf Now gives us users the opportunity to play great courses at reasonable prices, and I hope that abuse doesn’t permeate the system and ruin it for others.
Great Course : Excellent Price
I played Prairie View on Monday of Customer Appreciation Week, where the 18 hole golf rate was $16 with cart.
For late April, the course was in very good shape, considering snow just a few days earlier.
I would play here anytime!
Played three times this year and it was excellent as usual. The staff bend over backwards to help you and that is why I am recommending it to everyone I know
The course was in great shape. We enjoyed ourselves greatly. Should have told them of my Handicap in getting around greens. it would have been even nicer.
Love this course, but was very dry. Greens were so hard you could not hold them. Still this one beautiful course and will be in our plans to fairly often. Visually this is as nice as the John Deere at Silvis Il.
nice course
a bit disjointed with staff as we had 924 tee time and ran a bit late. we were there at 915. man gave id's dirty look and put us behind group of 4 that didn't tee off till 930. slow play and would not let us through until 10th hole. course was in good shape but fairways cut too short. like hitting of green which I never thought I could complain about but almost felt bad leaving divot. had great experiences in past but this time felt uncomfortable and staff seemed snooty. will go again as is such a nice course.
AMAZING
This is one of the best couses I have played this year. You could not find a better course for the money.
