This course lived up to the billing my co-workers said it was. Great practice facilitys. The staff is super. But the course, oh my. Do not judge this course by the first hole. It seams simple enough being straight, but sfter you hit your drive you will end up with a tough downhill lie because you can not see that ridge. Plus the pin placement will be tough with the not flat green. It only gets better from there.

Lots of rain lately and the course was in terrific shape. Only a few "soft" spots on the course. I recommend this course to everyone. It is a bit pricey, however the nicest course in the area.

Course was in great shape as always. Fun, open layout on most holes. My only complaint would be the pace of play. There was a group that caused backups all day; at one point there were five groups on the same hole. If there was a ranger to police pace of play it'd be just about five stars across the board.

I drive 70 minutes each way 3-4 times a year to play here.

Been one of my favs for years.

This course is right in my back yard. Hard to find a nicer challenging place to play. Excellent condition. If you can get a deal check it out.

Played in November and the course was in mid summer shape. This course is as good as anywhere I play including some high end suburban courses. Fabulous on all levels.

I've reviewed this course before but forgot to mention the best part of the experience here. THE PRACTICE FACILITY. Only PGA courses can rival their short game area. I've been teaching for 20yrs and have played and practiced at a few hundred courses and I can't name too many that rival it. The one area I loo at first is do they have bunkers to work out of AND is the green large enough to simulate what you'll see out on the course. The answer to both of them is a resounding YES!! I truly hope the members and locals realize what kind of gem they have there. The local high school players have the best course to practice every part of their game. I really wished I lived closer (an hour away) to take advantage of this beauty on an everyday basis. Chipping green separate from the two putting greens in unbelievable. Bunker area like I said is a beaut.

Only reason I gave it 3 stars on pace of play is I got stuck behind an outing. Other than that this is a gorgeous course and challenging for all levels.

I happened to play this course since a friend of mine had business in Byron, Illinois. Got a great deal on Teeoff ($14 w/cart) on a Sunday afternoon.

I would warn first-time users that the course layout is poorly marked and the pro shop and other staff couldn't give me proper instructions to get to the driving range (good range). I also had a difficult time finding this first hole since they let a tree branch cover over the tee marker. Again, I had to guess where several holes were which was complicated by the tall grass between holes.

This course is a reasonable drive from Chicago (80-90 minutes). Be sure to get there from Illinois route 2 which goes along the Rock River and has a great scenic picnic area about 5 miles before town.

Don't expect a challenging course or helpful staff.

Great condition and fun course to play. Has brand new electric carts with a built in monitor to tell you the distance to hole in every shot!! Amazing! Every course should have this technology.

Whata great course. Best in the area . Had a 145 tee time but got off early. Beautiful course, fantastic weather. Great day in all..
