plays tough for casual golfers.
Had a decent day at first however things got a little out of hand in the back nine with a foursome behind us that had music blaring from their cart that could be heard a hole away and was very loud while we were on the tee box.
Also, kept hitting into our group.
Unfortunately, they were members and could care less.
Another great day
Weather was great. Surprisingly, even though we did have to wait (threesome following a foursome), pace of play was good...esp for a holiday. Played in just under 4 hours. Will be back soon!
Great Clubhouse guys and course
I have played this course several times and I have always had a good experience. The gentleman that work in the clubhouse are always very attentive and helpful. The round it’s self was great there was good pays good conditions in good fun. Played with two guys I didn’t know but still had a great time thanks
Great shape! Great staff!
Great experience playing today. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Pace was a little slow at times, but ranger was out keeping things moving. Course is in great shape!
First time
A course you need to play as a first time player with someone who has played here before. Lots of blind shots off tee and second shots and hard greens. Worth playing for sure
Great golf day
Overcast, cool and threatening rain. Course was in good shape. Maybe it was because rain was forecast, but course was not crowded. Pace of play was terrific. Greens did not seem hard but were fast and approaches were tough to stop. All said, best day for golf this year. Great to be outdoors.
Championship Course for a bargain
Not the longest course ever. But it’s tricky to navigate. Greens were recently aerated when I played but rolled out pretty well. Fairways were great. Gained about 20-40yds of roll after I de locates my M5. 7.5 degrees was perfect for longer drives. Hit all par 5s in regulation. Just could make any eagles. Pi placements were set for recreational play. But I could see this course playing 5 shots more difficult if that was changed. A lot of angles and slope. Pace of play was amazing. 3 hours for a threesome. I would recommend this course to anyone who likes a challenge. Great job Woodland Hills Staff.
Great time, except for the Marshall
Beautiful course, well maintained, easy tee time booking. We had a great outing...until the marshall came around. Told us we were 22 minutes behind. This was interesting as there was no one backing up behind us. So we picked up the pace anyway, which was no problem. Then he comes again...says we are still behind and need to skip a hole and move on. Long story short...we finish, unload the carts, have some food, some beers, and are sitting out front for almost thirty minutes when the group that was behind us finally pulls in.
Marshall Dillon over there needs to probably have his watch checked.
We will go back though, it did not ruin the experience, just thought I would let you all know.
Nice golf course.
Very challenging ,especially if you’re first time playing here.
Punched greens - no warning though on golfnow
Greens still rolled super fast even with being punched.
Just don’t understand why a Marshall (when I’ve played this course probably 10 times last year and never saw one Marshall) pulled up on us on hole #6 and just sat behind us and waited for us to tee off???
Then at green the grounds crew pulls up and waits for us to finish , next hole grounds crew weed eating the woods around the greens?? Extremely distracting and disappointing! Zero golf etiquette from the course!!
Double booked
Gentleman checking in front of me said he had 12:45 tee time and so did I have 12:45 from golf now . Course management said golf now has something wrong because not only was I double booked on Saturday 5-2 they said Golfnow had double book 20 time slots . This is embarrassing coming in with a tee time and someone else having it too. This kinda backed the course up .
Overall course is in great shape fun track to play . Must watch driver on some holes lot of hills and balls will roll a long ways
Overall Review
The course was good. Layout was nice. The two big draw backs where the driving range was closed due to COVID-19 but they definitely had the space on the range to make each hitting area 6ft apart. Also the course is very hilly, a lot of blind tee shots and most course have a good description of the holes or at least images on the scorecard of the holes and they did but the images where out of date. Some images showed trouble when there was none and some showed no trouble and there was trouble. The staff was not great but they were not bad either.
Not as good as many of the ratings suggest
Played early morning so pace of play was really good. Course has taken very good precautions for play in this strange period of time. Overall, the experience was ok. Fairly tight fairways were extremely hard with not much grass. Greens were very small, but in decent condition. Local knowledge would be helpful as there are a number of blind shots that lead to hazards.
Rock Hard Fairways
The course is always laid out great. The only problem that I had this time was the fairways were as hard as a cart path. Balls that were hit perfect and ended up out of bounds or lost due to the hard fairways.
Beautiful Course
Today was cart path only due to heavy rain the night before. It is a very hilly course that presented a challenge for those of us who can't play the middle of the course. But otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere.
Woodland Hills
This course is a fun course to play. With some tight tee shots, small greens and dangerous approaches, this course will keep you entertained. It only plays about 6400 from the tips but it’s all you can handle if you don’t hit the fairways and greens.
Best public course in the Cartersville/Dallas, GA area that won’t break the bank. If you come out once, you’ll come out many more times.
Nice round
It was great everyone with there own cart, tee times spaced out every 15 minutes. Finished the round in 3.25 hrs. Great place to get a quick round in.. fast greens.
Some goofy holes on the front due to the terrain. I would probably say I liked 13-14 holes on the course. The greens were in really good shape and that always helps to enjoy a course.
