Getting Back in Shape
Course was in pretty decent condition compared to end of the season last year. Some tee boxes ripped to shreds but it seems to me they are maintaining the fairways and greens better than last season. No halfway house open yet
April Golf
Course was not ready, bo signs to 1st or 10th tee. No driving range set up until almost noon. Early is season so the course needs work. There is also no concessions to get food. There is only snacks so bring your own food and drinks.
Great weather and people
Great day to play and a great couple to enjoy the links with. Good work. Quality.
Lots of new golfers
Its a good layout, but attracts lots of new golfers and younger golfers that arent looking for a good round of golf but an excuse to drink for 5 hours and hit a ball around or teach their kids how to play golf. These groups also dont know how to let faster groups play through and with no active ranger or tee sheet manager, there is always a quick backup of twosomes, sometimes 8 in a row, and somehow they’re all waiting for the greens to clear on Par 5s. From the tips the course layout is challenging enough, but eases off enough as well, enjoyable except for the amount of times it takes driver out of your hands. Ruins the fun of some of the holes.
Have always loved their range area for warming up and the staff is always very nice and helpful. Just need to do a better job managing groups of beginners or those not focused on the golf.
Probably not the place to come if youre serious about your golf.
Mill Creek
The course is a shell of its former self. That’s more the feel of it than the condition though. It used to feel luxury, now it just feels different. Condition was pretty good considering it was closed for a while. Tee boxes were uneven and lots of divots. Didn’t look like the tee blocks had been moved for a week or so. Fairways and greens were very good. Also a shame to see the empty restaurant/bar area.
laughing at the most recent 5 star review
With the amount of reviews submitted by successjw it's "Very interesting" he rated this course 5 stars??? I played same the day as that round......greens were recently micro aerated and absolutely were not even close to being in top notch shape. I guess this frequent reviewer enjoys courses with somewhat bumpy slow inconsistent greens. Sand traps are extremely hit and miss. 3.5 overall at best.....that's not even taking into account the COMPLETE LACK of clubhouse facilities and ridiculous beer selections most of which are light beer. I do actually like the course and its routing..... the greens need some time and a really good roll to recover. This course actually opens up from the tips.....with many completely different angles from the forward tees. If you can't get off the tee consistently and get the ball in the air you have absolutely no business playing the tips here. I recommend the course (as I have in previous reviews which you should look up and read) but I'm really tired of the lack of forthcoming honest assessment especially when a frequent reviewer 5 stars a track....that patently is not.
