A lot of poo
Likes: Quite a few shorter holes. I like to tee off with my irons.
Staff was very friendly.
Not a ton of trees.
A lot of natural grasses
Reasonably priced with the discount.
Dislikes: Water everywhere.
People walking their dogs in the middle of the course.
Kids playing on the course.
A TON of poo. Goose poo everywhere (and I only saw about six geese so they hadn't cleaned up since winter) and DOG POO IN THE FAIRWAY - on not jus one, but two fairways!
Death March IN Geneva
This at one time was a great course. IT is beat. Greens were shaggy, traps were a mess. 6 hour round on a Saturday!!!!! NO MARSHALLS UNLESSS YOU COUNT THE GUY WHO IS APOLOGIZING FOR THE 3 1/2 HOUR FRONT NINE. How was this course voted the best course in Kane County in 2013? All I know is when I booked this reservation I was looking forward to a nice round with my son on a great golf course. The pace of play and the conditions made it miserable.
Played in December
Because it was Dec. and one hardly ever gets the chance to play the Midwest area in Dec. Most of the course items where not available - like ball washers. I would like to play this course in prime time weather to take advantage of the greener grasses.
Greens and fairways in great shape
For late November/early December, Mill Creek is in terrific shape. They mowed greens last week, so they're pretty quick and fairly true for this time of year. Rivals more famous and expensive courses in this area.
Not your typical track
Challenging, multi level greens on almost every hole, narrow, rolling fairways. Not a very long course, but requires good ball placement. Greens and fairways in good shape, tees not too bad, sand traps need sand - a lot of sand - like hitting off the beach right after the tide goes out.
great price for weekend golf!
Mill Creek is a well kept course, moderate difficulty, and fun to play. The staff is excellent!
Fun to play but requires thoughtful and accurate shots on many holes
Always a fun but challenging course. Many of the holes are a beauty to behold as well. The greens can be difficult with the multiple levels and undulations but are consistent. Not a course where you just hit it as far as you can.
Good shape for being Oct. Short--even from the tips. Got off the back nine to ease crowd off #1. They could be friendlier
Nice track. More courses could ease first tee backups if allow a few groups go off back if there is some run when they turn. nice practise area
Accuracy is KEY
I play this course 4-5 times a year. I like it early in the year, because it makes you keep the driver in the bag on some holes. It allows you to focus on your woods (hybrid), and irons. WATCH OUT if it is windy. This course can be really forgiving unless the wind picks up.
Greens are well maintained and true to the breaks. The greens can be very challenging.
Course Needs a Little Work
This is a planned housing / golf community development. The prices are very fair. The course is in ok condition. It could be a lot better. It offers a lot of different looks and some elevation change. Because of its proximity to a neighborhood street, they post a sign on the 10th hole stating that you may not use a wood from the tee. That is just obnoxious. This is one of the reasons I usually can't stand playing a planned community development golf course. They try to squeeze you into spots that just don't make any sense for a good golf course. However, it is a good value and the amenities and people are nice.
Expensive track for a so-so course
This course normally goes for $100+ on normal days, but thanks to GolfNow I got to play it a severly discounted rate. I found the practice facility to be a bit bare and overused. The day we were there, they had scheduled 3 separate outings (all shotgun starts)! So play was s l o o o w. The course is fairly straightforward. Everything is right in front of you. Given the high price, I don't think that I would go back especially, when there are other courses relatively close by such as Cantigny that cost about the same, but are far superior.
Challenging.
Nice, well kept course. Was backed up (there were two foursomes of seniors in front of us). Most of the holes were blind off of the tee, making it challenging.
