Enjoyed the course. Overall in good shape. Very good practice facailities.
6:08 AM tee time allowed for quick play. Course is somewhat tight so bring extra balls. Holes have a nice variety but not too long. Course was in very good shape except for some of the tee boxes that were a little uneven. Large greens with slopes make putting a litle challenging but fun. Recomnend the course and will play it again.
Fun and Challenging Course
Lost a few golf balls this day. Some of the fairways are quite narrow with tall brush on both sides(ex. hole 5). The back 9 is quite enjoyable, with my favorites being hole 11 and 17.
Course is set up nice
Booked a 10.16 tee time stood by tee box until 10.35 still had 5 groups in front of us.High school golf team came off 18 over to 1 and was 6 groups in front of the 5 on the tee .I did get my money refunded and went down the street to Tanana Farms who also had high school golfers but they worked around paying golfers.Like the fact of young golfers out on the course, but then don't take tee times. This course has lost my business.
Tight!
Not an overly long course, but there are plenty of places to get into trouble! Fairways and greens are in good shape, but the tees could use a little work.
good course
the course provides challenging shots and requires some course management. the course is well maintained and the folks are friendly. the cost is reasonable,
Good Course but Very Wet
Mill Creek is a good course. It is not terribly long but the green complexes make it challenging enough. The course was very wet requiring us to play from the cart path only. It seemed way too wet for the bit if rain we had the day before. I suspect they still ran the sprinkler system overnight. The greens were in good condition except for many ball marks. The bunkers we virtually sand-less and in need of attention.
Needs a minor fixes....
the course itself was nice. I was the first time golfer at this course and there was no pictures on the scorecard to guide us where we were going. Had to use the cart to get a view of everything.
the signs to the first hole were also not present. Once we figured out the course we liked it and would go back again. Please update the scorecards.
Nice Course, only request would be notification on Golfnow of when outings are planned
Enjoy Mill Creek, unfortunately this week there was a 10:00 am shotgun start outing and we had a 10:32 a.m. tee time. Really slowed play, especially on back nine.
Play here a lot, but today was terrible.
How do you schedule a event on a Saturday? Drunk players in front of us, walking back and picking up balls we hit. No sense of etiquette or pace of play. 5 1/2 hours is ridiculous, even on a weekend.
Tee at #3 set so close to wetland growth it was impossible to hit driver because foliage so high. Tee set at 6 on downhill slope.
Bike rider with no shirt on rides onto cart path and fills water bottle from water jug.
Finally, restrooms at 14 both plugged with water running on floor. Disgusting.
Well maintained greens
No directions on the course. Scorecard had no descriptions of the holes and having not played the course before, we more often than not hit into trouble.
Disappointing for such a nice course.
Fairly tight layout, I think Bentgrass fairways, has driving range
We booked 9 holes on Golf Now for 2 players, around 11:00 am, midweek. As we arrived we could see players waiting at the tee, halfway out, and on the green, on all of the first 9 holes that were visible from the street. By the time we checked in, loaded up the cart, and got to the 1st tee, things had opened up, at least for the moment. We're decent golfers and happily played without waiting until number 7, when we hit the bottleneck. A ranger came by and suggested we hook up with the 2some behind us, as, he said, the course was jammed up through #18. We only had 2 to go, so we opted out.
The course is interlaced in a housing development. It was not disappointing at all, especially with the discounted rate. I don't know if it is always as busy as it was the day we played. Would play it again.
Greens
Very fun corse and would recommend. Great if you only hit your drives less than 250. You don't have to bomb this course.
This course is a challange
It is well worth it to buy a yardage book here! There is no course layout on the scorecards or on any of the holes which makes it extremely difficult to know where to hit. There are also a lot of blind shots.
Course needs TLC
The greens were beat up and evidence of oil spots from machine was throughout. One of the outside restrooms was disgusting and should be closed.
This course was a nice course in it's early days, but management changes have let this course go. Too bad; it's a nice track.
Shotmakers course
The good:
You can get good deals on Golfnow for the quality of this course. A good variety of tees to play from and you must hit the fairway on most holes or your ball is lost in the swamp. Greens have a lot of undulation.
The bad:
They actually ran out of scorecards and used photocopied versions. This place seems mismanaged. Pace of play can be an issue at times.
Very nice course...
A buddy and myself were looking for a course to play, he recommended Mill Creek. I checked it out and the deal on Golfnow was fantastic, $25 with cart, normally $37 twilight at the proshop.
Great Course and Great value!
Well maintained but poorly managed.
The course layout and conditions are nice. However, the ranger/management don't take any actions to keep players on pace.
Our round took five hours. We reported the slow play to the ranger on the third hole, he said he couldn't figure out why it was so slow. At the turn, we reported the slow play to the pro-shop, they said five hours is normal for their course and they couldn't do anything about it.
The middle tee box markers were missing from a hole; seems like a minor detail but as a few minutes delay accrue, foursome after foursome, the pace of play goes to 5+ hours.
If you're in the area, go to Tanna Farms instead, it's right down the street.
challenging layout with mix of prairie and woods
Hit it straight or lose a bunch of balls in swampgrass
Pace of play a problem
Played on July 5th which might have added to it, but the pace of play was BRUTAL! We had to wait on the tee or behind the tee because the group in front of us was also waiting for all but 4 holes. Then when there was a gap we had the ranger ask us to speed it up, which was really annoying considering.
