Extremely Poor
No notification of punching greens on front side. Pro shop, starters/ cart guys- zero signs of anything. Everyone had to go off back 9, including a 5 some. When we finished the back to play it again, there were about 15 people in line to tee off. Asst pro was less than professional and wouldn’t help out at all. The course also was in terrible shape. Greens were only thing decent. Do yourself a favor and play elsewhere. This course probably will be closing before too long.
Price is right, but the bodies of water are NASTY
not sure what the water situation is the lake and hole # 12 are nasty
Where are the water coolers?
Solid course and decent value for the money. However in the dead of summer in Georgia heat, to have no water cooler options on the course seems unacceptable. I asked an employee what the deal was, and he said they haven’t put out coolers since the start of Covid. I would have accepted that 18 months ago, but let’s be real, Covid is no longer a good excuse. I’ve played at cheaper local courses that still manage to put out coolers, so it just feels lazy.
Great day to Shank!
The course was in great shape. Played in 3 and a half hours on Friday afternoon in a twosome. Wish I saw the cart girl more often. Only saw he on first hole and never came back around. It was hit. Will definitely play there again for $30 as a Golfpass member.
Surprised
Play once a week and was curious the course was. Yardage wise, the course is short but the fairways require accuracy off the tee, and the greens are challenging.w I never found a bunker but they could use some maintenance. My only complaint would be pace of play and beverage service was sparse. One final critique, there a couple of groups that were loud and lacked any semblance of golf edicate
Pace of play
The only thing missing from this course is having a ranger enforce speed of play. It should NOT take 5 hours to play a round of golf in the morning. We all need a good reminder to speed things up or allow other to play through. This is keeping course from being rated higher. Staff and course are great!
We are sorry the pace was not good. Thursday mornings are usually not an issue, so we don't normally have a player assistant scheduled. If you could let me know what time you played, we will certainly look into the matter. Thank you for playing City Club and we hope to see you soon.
Great condition
Course is in amazing shape. I used to play here non stop 3-4 years ago before the greens were replaced. Doesn’t even compare to the condition now. MUST PLAY!
Really Challenging
Loved it. The greens were large and undulating. It made me really have to consider my approach shots into the green. Fairways are pretty wide open and easy to stay in the middle of it.
Close to great
I really enjoyed this course. The layout was challenging and I think I used every club in my bag. The greens were very fast and it took me a few holes to get the pace. They were very smooth and rolled true. The only thing that detracted from being great was mowing. The practice range tee, the tees on course and the fairways were all shaggy and needed to be cut. The staff was very friendly and the the grill by the 9th green was a hit with our group.
Definitely will be back
Driving Range Issue
The downpour on the 2nd and 3rd holes cleared out a few foursomes ahead of us so the speed of play was very good, finishing in 4 1/4 hours.
We arrived an hour early to hit the driving range...which was closed because the cage on their ball retrieving tractor was broken. It opened back up 5 minutes before our tee time. We play only occasionally so a warm up is essential. To be honest, I would not have booked this tee time if I knew the driving range would not be open. Nice enough course layout in decent condition, but slightly overpriced for the quality. Normally $53, they raised it to $63 for Memorial Day Weekend and also added a surprise $5 Convenience Fee - what the heck is that?
We apologize for the issue with the practice tee, we have been trying to keep closures to a minimum until the part arrives for the picker. I am curious about the $5.00 convenience fee. It looks like you booked through GolfNow. They do charge a booking fee, but we have no control over what that charge is. If you book through cityclubmarietta.com, we do not have a booking fee. Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience.
We certainly apologize for the miscommunication. We have been notifying groups as they call in, but we must have missed your group. We have contact GolfNow and they have agreed to refund the "Hot Deal" that you purchased. We hope to see you again after the greens have healed from the aerification process.
