Closed on Monday's
I book this really early and found out on the day of that the golf course had recently started closing on Monday, I'm glad I was running late and called ahead or I would have driving a long way......
I will still play here but not on Mondays
Course is Closing
Enjoyed playing this course for the last time. The county is closing it down.
We had a good round, the weather was nice
The county is ready to demolish the course. The stakes are already put down and as we played stakes from surveying team were put down.
I wish there was a way to save this course, but I guess the county needs it more. To heck with the golfers. Maybe a new golf course is in the future?

Rain
Had to give some low ratings because we were only able to finish 5 holes and then the torrential rains began, high winds and lightning so we had to leave.

Course needs some love
Grass on the greens could pass for the fringe on most courses. Tons of unplayable areas in the fairway, cart paths are brutal. I guess you get what you pay for

Sandy greens
In the middle of my round, they are putting sand on the green. It was not a good day to play.

Great value for the money
It's a great layout and I enjoy the course. It's a very reasonable price and you don't get that high in feel but in my opinion it's a very good value.

Plenty of music choices!
Fairways were rock hard. Maybe 5 sand bunkers the rest are overgrown grass.
Plenty of people riding around jamming to music. One group had what I believe to be a party speaker maxed out. Normally music is cool when it’s not blasting next to me on the tee box.
Course is a winding mess and we had a group purposely misdirect us onto the 18th tee instead of 7 so they could sneak in another 9? I’m not sure what their move was but they didn’t have a studio quality speaker anchored to their cart so I couldn’t be too mad.
Pace of play was good for a busy Saturday. It’s a community course so I don’t expect much but the Griffin muni course is cheaper, better watered and I am yet to have somebody blaring Rihanna next to me while I’m trying to hit.

Bad Condition
The course is in bad condition and poorly maintained. Whatever the Griffin City Golf Course is doing is the solution to making this course better. It is hard to understand how Griffin which is a smaller city has a better municipal golf course than McDonough’s municipal course.
Value golf don’t expect much for the value
They sanded the greens but didn’t tell us til the 2nd hole. The course has a strange layout some holes are far apart from eachother so walking would be tough. Short but tight on some holes with some hidden water. Can’t beat the price but you get what you pay for. Freeways are hard greens are rock hard. Bunkers turned into waste areas so I’d rather pay 40 or 50 for good greens and good layout but I’m a low handicapper.

Great round
I always like playing here the friendly staff, and for some reason I always have a great round.
