Great course at a reasonable price
Really liked this course. Greens were fast and consistent. Fairways and traps were in good shape, as were most tee boxes. Only thing I didn't like was that two of the three par-fives weren't really reachable in two unless you're a major risk taker. At $50, it's a great deal. Will play there again.
Review
Little slow play… wish there was a Marshall however course is in condition and the value is worth it
Ga National
Played a round after rain that morning. Soggy conditions but still a good course and would play again
Not welcoming
The pro shop staff were quite rude to multiple people checking in to play. Would not return.
Enjoyable
I enjoyed my experience and I was teamed up with a good group of people that we enjoyed being around each other.
Decent course with some room for improvement
Georgia National offerd challenging golf in a nice environment. Some holes really reflect a championship feel and at times fairways were in awesome shape. Our group never got to the feel on the greens, but I would not blaim it on the quality of greens, but rather the players.
There is significant room for improvement in the greenside bunkers. At least twice the ball bounced 50 yard to a random direction from the bunker as the bunker ground was like concrete. The drainage is not working properly and there is no loose sand on the bunkers. The second improvement to make the overall experience nicer would be to fix the cart paths, as the ride can be bouncy.
I would still highly recommend the course as it offers good value at least during the weekdays. Also the layout is suitable for better players not to get bored, but beginnerd to enjoy their roind of golf. I give four stars due to the unacceptable conditions of the bunkers.
It has a great layout but the bunkers are terrible
A solid layout and finishing holes 13 to 18 are an outstanding test of golf.. Greens are small for the length of the course and not well defined.. Number 1.. 7.. 11..
Greens ran smoothly despite scouring and were firm.. So hard to hit greens in regulation..
Fairways were still a little softer after the rain but were pretty good. Tee boxes well grassed
Bunkers were just terrible.. I literally was sitting on stone on front bunker on 6th. Yet balls could be caked in mud as well
We had an outstanding lunch in the clubhouse and very reasonable.. Pace of play was pretty slow for mid week and no rangers around.. The downhill 17th fairway is dangerous and were almost hit by balls from the tee from impatient players..
Excellent Course
By far an excellent experience. The range balls were free. Pace of Play was great. Greens and fairways were in great condition. Although we played during the weekday at a discounted price, I highly recommend this course.😎
Course conditions.
I played the round with relative ease. Wasn't crowded. However I had to changed my cart right off the bat as seat was torn badly on the corner. I found one that was in better condition. The cart paths need replaced badly. Asphalt is bubbling and broken apart. Several holes you have to walk up stairs that use railroad ties that are very bad. Broken and tore up from the heat and cold and some were rotting. Greens had been recently aerated and still have sand on them and puts rolled very fast. Fairways very green and lush. All in all was decent play.
Beautiful
Beautiful course. Fairways and greens were awesome. Played Stone Mountain (Stonemont) the day before. If your considering between the two, do not hesitate. Georgia National is hands down better. Subs Mountain conditions are horrible. Dead spots everywhere.
Nice course and convenient for airport
We played on our last day of US trip on way to Atlanta airport and it was very convenient for that, leaving 45 minutes to get there in good traffic.
The course was nice with good layout, though as someone else noted the cart paths were poor as was signage to next hole on several occasions.
We followed some very slow seniors for about nine holes which spoiled our round a bit!
Overall though a pleasant experience though the lack of locker room is a bit strange.
